Trunk not opening consistently

(2022 June Premium X4 - 22K) This week the trunk stopped responding to touch screen 70% of the time. The key FOB is working but the trunk gets stuck in an open/close cycle while not quite releasing (up an inch and then closes). My guess is the software command decides to work when the keyfob triggers it resulting in conflicting commands. The physical button (on the trunk) is suffering a 50% failure rate as well. I'll post a video tomorrow (I forgot to hit record when I was capturing it on video yesterday LOL) So like an idiot I was pointing my phone and not recording. In the meantime I'll settle for suggestions (other than taking it to Ford as this is obvious).


I have full updates, rebooted the console, etc.


Any insight as to what may be happening to those who have failed trunks? Could a failed unlock/lock cycle have set the open height to 1"?

I thought it was just me, but same issue with my touch screen…sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. The physical button on the trunk is 50/50 - sometimes it opens all the way, sometimes it just pops it. My key fob always works correctly.

Trunk not opening all the way when you click the button is a software bug. There is a TSB for it I believe, but your software needs update.

Basically if your car is locked, first time you hit the button it unlocks the car and pops a little, second it opens all the way.

If your car is not locked it will open all the way.

I'm also having the following issues:

• Today: I'm getting indications my car is close to collision with ........nothing (The car image has another car in front of me in with RED buffer zone) it goes from nothing in front of me to red with car image. There are zero cars around or near me. This is happening intermittently for no reason.
• Doors aren't opening on first contact with thumb (takes two or 3 attempts)
