Trunk not opening from software

Anyone's trunk not opening from the Sync screen? I've personally seen this twice but thought I was crazy. My wife told me it hasn't been openeli g for her either for a while now.

I just want to know if this is a common issue or if I should bring this up in the upcoming 10k mile tune up.

Uh, I don't think the CR1 has a power liftgate? I'm guessing the button pops it but you'll have to manually lift open.

Correct that's the behavior it has when it works. Recently pushing the button on the screen does nothing, I have to press it several times for it to pop the trunk open. In screen should behave the same as the physical button on the lift gate but it's been very hit and miss lately.

Have the dealer look at it when you bring it in., it’s not functioning as it should.

Did you ever figure this out. Mine started doing the same thing today. 2022 CR1, lift gate not unlocking from the center screen. Button grays out when I touch it but not “popping” the trunk. No power lift gate. Mechanical button on the lift gate works fine.

I did take it in for a door module error message that was popping up and they ran all updates while fixing that. I've yet to see the trunk issue happen since.

For those interested, I think the trunk button on the touchscreen has a slight time delay when pressing, at least for me. It always has (maybe to prevent accidental opening?).

Try pressing and holding the icon for one or two seconds, and then releasing. That's how it has always opened for me. Upon release, it'll open if you're in Park.

While it may have a delay, my issue was a problem with something, not sure if software or hardware related as it was in the shop for a Door Module error when they fixed it. I remember trying to hold it down to see if it helped but nothing, now it's back to working as it always was with just quick taps.

Good news, my to touch screen to lift gate started working. It didn’t work with the long push and I pulled the #11 fuse in the passenger footwell (seemed like the correct fuse) to no avail. My dealer didn’t have an appointment for 3 months, but he suggested trying to open with the key fob. The fob “popped” the trunk and now my touchscreen works. I knew it needed some type of reset, just didn’t know how to do it.

Thanks for the offer, but it’s working now. Maybe in the future Ford could develop a system like IT network companies that can log into your car to fix software issues (as part of warranty and a fee afterwards). Might save a 3 month dealer wait for minor glitches. My 2 cents.
