I stumbled on this on Youtube. You only need to watch the first 10 seconds to wonder why Ford doesn't allow us to aim the screen at the driver if we'd like to.

I'd like to see a kits that allows this as long as it locks into position.

Yeah, I wish it moved, too. If I had a Tesla, I would seriously consider buying that kit.

That would be cool.

It's not just Ford, but pretty much every manufacturer in the world, right? How many car models have ever been built with movable center displays?

Great idea. Your passenger can use it to play video games. In the meantime you can’t see the map or know how fast you’re going. Great idea!

Wow, you need a Snickers…

I can tell you don’t like it and have awful passengers, probably not a good option for you. ?

LOL
agree with you on the ridiculous “need” of some folks for entertainment (infotainment?) on the center screen.
Here comes the but—but how do you know how fast you’re going on the center screen?
I would love to customize that center display more, for me the only MPH display remains in my lightly buzzing Instrument Cluster Display (aka for me, “dash”) that was replaced before I purchased & drove off the lot due to its failure. ?✌

Note that my response was to the idea of taking this modification to a Tesla. Unlike the Mach E , the Models 3 and Y have no screen in front of the driver. Pivoting that screen to benefit the passenger has just left the driver with no instruments to monitor or maps to follow.

Actually I thought it was just as bad an idea after lunch as before -- at least for the Models 3 and Y.

Probably the reasons Ford doesn’t put it on a moveable mount are:
  • Cost
  • Complexity
  • Durability

Now in development at Ford.... You see EVERYTHING, and warms the cockpit in winter.

Bonus, you won't know the windshield got busted..... Looking at you, Mark.
