Thanks for that. 37p is pretty good. And does that use plug and charge or do you need to use the RFID card?

About the subscription-I don’t think all your trip will be more than this Ā£149 and reduced price per Kw or min at some places on the way to the Apls
Yeah, I'm thinking that once I have the sub I will seek out Ionity in the UK and use those chargers. Hard to know if it will break even.

Seems like the sub would only really makes sense if I continued to use Ionity in the UK over the rest of the year. Doing everything in euros makes this easier (prices are what I think sub would cost when charing in Germany).

Plus, passport gives flexibility - less reliance on having to use Ionity, less of a hit using Fastned or others.

You can use either Plug & charge or the FordPass Charging card :)

I did all the costings based on my usage scenario of using IONITY chargers when on UK holidays or trips to IKEA, and the sub reached the break even point quite quickly.

It’s deffo one of those things where you’ve got to work it out based on your own potential usage.

I love a spreadsheet

What's Passport ? - and why does it differ from ionity sub ?
I'm also going to the south of France in August. I'm planning on just using pay-as-you-go chargers

I've signed up to blue oval - shell recharge - electrouniverse but honestly whenever I've had to charge away from home Ive never used anything other than pay as you go. These different charging systems are a nightmare - I tried using a couple of them but always gave up eventually and ended just paying on my credit card (life's too short - just need to start charging, haven't got 30mins faffing with payment systems)

I think it’s a bit difficult with pay as you go all the way to south of France.
To South of France and back I use only IONITY and chargers at the hotels when we stay. Super simple. Never have a minute in the queue even at the middle of the season.

Hi guys I have a Job 1 car which was stuck on 1.6. I had the dealership fix in September last year which put me up to 2.3.

Havent received any new updates since regarding this new batch release.

Is there any way of checking website F12 data etc to see if they are "failing" behind the scenes? Or do I have to get the widget again?
I’m in exactly the same boat. I was updated to 2.3.0 in February this year.

The most recent update I got was: Priority Update 22-PU0727-VI-FXA on 16/6/23

Nothing yet about the recent batches but I don’t know if I need to go through any previous updates to catch up first!

I posted about it on the FordPass community and the reply didn’t seem to indicate that there should be any issues but going by my past experiences I’m not holding my breath!?

Are you a low mileage driver or just do short journeys?

How many updates to they need to get ready for an actual update. Most of them are getting ready for something that doesn’t come or is so minor we won’t notice.

In France you need to use Ford RFID card on Ionity chargers. Plug and Charge does not work.

Other than hotel destination chargers I used Ionity exclusively on a trip to south eastern Spain. Great coverage in France and didn’t have to wait for a charger.

I paid for the year Ionity subscription via Ford, it made it very easy for charging. Lots of other users seemed to struggle.

Left UK on 01/05 and returned on 09/07, drove a total of 3257 miles at 3.1 mls/kWh. Mostly motorway driving at 110km/h. Only saw one other MachE, a French one on a French motorway near Narbonne, who acknowledged us as he passed us.

Trip has certainly removed the last of the range anxiety!

So if i want to use Ionity chargers in France - can i not just signup for the ionity app and then pay for the passport subscription when im there ? Do i need to use Ford RFID ?

I've just come back from 2 weeks in France, and still have the first year Ionity subscription with Ford. Plug and play worked every time, and when converting back it worked out at 27.5p per KWH. They are brilliant, never queued, always fast.

Not once in 12 or so charges in France did plug and charge work on my MachE, although I did get 3 charges that I did not get charged for. I was told by another user at an Ionity station just to the north of Paris that plug and charge was not available when I couldn’t get the charger to work.

Plug and charged worked fine in UK at Folkestone before leaving and at the Ionity stations near Barcelona and Alicante.
