So Sunday night thought... do we think the silence on shipping may have been compounded by us leaving the EU?

Back when all this was originally being planned I know there was lots of talk that the reason Ford had the Mach-E made in Mexico was due to the tariff free trade deal between EU and Mexico. As a substantial proportion (~60%) were originally coming to the EU (and UK) it made business sense.

Now due to the pandemic delays and the UK no longer being part of the EU trade deal and zero tariff agreement has this impacted on the costs for Ford importing these into the UK?

There is a draft continuation trade agreement that UK/Mexico signed just before Christmas so that things could continue in principle, but I'm not sure if that has actually fully happened yet, but is expected in the coming days/weeks.

Are Ford holding off until this agreement is in place?

EDIT: Actually after further investigation I think they pulled the rabbit out of that hat on December 31st LOL

Anyone seen this in the UK manual? The front boot or frunk or froot can be opened with the key.

Hi All new poster here.

I ordered the standard range rwd in black a couple of weeks ago through my company car provider (Kinto/Alphabet).

My company car 3 year lease always ends around April/May time and I’ve always ordered late December early January.

Last week I had an email confirmation through and the estimated delivery date is 4th August! So an extra 3 months!

I queried this and the response from my provider was “It is simply the demand of the car and not enough build slots. The car has had great reviews and it is doing very well.”

Is anyone else in a similar boat re company car and/or is this the amount of time actual buyers are having to wait?

Thanks

I was told, by you know who, that if UK left the EU without a deal that the MME wouldn't have been affected. They just can't organise the proverbial in a brewery

If you go back and read a few posts on here it is not due to the demand of the car because a lot of people have pulled the plug. We don't know what or why they are delayed. Mine was one of a few built the first week in December and those are still sat in Mexico waiting to be shipped. We have no idea when this will be and FordUK are keeping mum. I would say August is about right judging by what is happening at the moment.

@SashaLondon - you would hope the manual would be a good source of info but contradicts itself all over the place unfortunately, so until one of us actually gets a production car lots of things remain uncertain.

The UK Mach-E's are due to have the frunk divider fitted as standard, and unfortunately p257 in the manual says....

Lee mate, my name is Scott. We’ve had a couple of exchanges on the UK EV owners group on Facebook!

It’s a total shit show. No one knows what’s going on. Everyone’s chipped off. Ford are hiding. Just strap in and hope for the best... ??

Thanks for that mate. Wasn’t really expecting a 28 lead time but if that’s what it is then I’ll have to sit tight.

Also if anyone has any decent photos of the SR RWD in black that they wouldn’t mind posting it would really be appreciated. I ordered without seeing many ‘non promo’ photos and not with the 18” wheels. I’d have preferred the 19s but that spec wasn’t available on my scheme.

Ah hi mate! Yea that’s all I can do. I’m lucky in that I already have a company car that I love but do feel for those who are buying

Hi Lee

Typical lead time is circa 24 weeks listed on their order page.

To be brutal, Ford are giving a strong impression that this is something they don't mind doing to their UK customers and care more about their home market in the USA.

That's putting it politely.

The problem with manuals are that they are a one shoe fits all publication. I had a wait of 2 months for my current car and during that time read the manual but some of the things that it said were on the car weren't when I got it. There were things in it that were specific to EUR cars and not UK. You can learn te basics but be prepared to not have somethings.

Hiya

There haven't been an awful lot of real life UK spec Mach-E photos in Black so far. If you want to get a general idea have a look at this thread in the forum...

https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/shadow-black-mach-e-club.89/

... but be aware wheel types and trims will vary in many of the photos on the above thread as most of the pics are US based.

The photo below is very close to what you have ordered apart from the alloy wheels which are simpler and grey on your model. (see rendered image at bottom of this post for fully accurate look)

I ordered mine as a standard version RWD in blue. Orde was made on 17th of December 2020. It said back then 22-24 weeks.
What do you think guys? Any chance to get the car by april?
I signed the agreement but the deslee disn't send it back countersigned...
Another thing: do you have any puctures or films with RWD standard? Interior+exterior. I know the premium ones looks awesome but...I am poor

Hi Alex - right now it's anyone's guess when any vehicles will arrive unfortunately. You might have been allocated someone else's cancelled order (which means it might turn up by April) or you might be on a new build schedule (which means it could be May/June or later)

Have you spoken to your nominated dealer to see if your order has a build date or a VIN number allocated? If not give them a call and see what they say ?

As for only ordering what you have - there's no shame in any of the models - they are all pretty awesome. You can get the best idea of what the interior and exterior will look like by using the car configurator on the Ford UK website and using the 360 degree views.
