I did a fair bit of hunting around with insurance. Used GoCompare, Compare the Market, also checked with Aviva & Direct Line.

In the end I went with Axa for £290pa with protected NCD and courtesy car options.

Axa is cheapest for me as well with the quotes which I make in advance. Now is about £70 more expensive. The bad thing is that my cheapest quote start on Sunday (I need insurance 3 days before)

I think the prices are rigged by some insurers if you ask for a start date that's soon. That why I have quotes for dates well in advance and have numerous historical quotes kept on gocompare.

I have quotes from now until 20th june!

I had a similar situation with the timing of quotes and dates but I found that I could buy the insurance with Axa and then use their portal to amend the start date as the policy had not come into effect - the price didn't change.

I’ve just received the automatic email below from Ford - I think others received this when their cars started moving. @Smuddell @Iwantonenow keep a lookout too!

I also received this today... however, I know my car arrived at the dealer today so not sure why it’s 2 -4 weeks??

That's always handy when they do that.

I took my insurance certificate in when I did my paperwork at the weekend and they didn't want to see it. Apparently the procedures changed and they don't check insurance at time of collection any more as it's your responsibility / liability.

I thought I'd feel better when my car was in country. If anything I'm getting more impatient the closer it gets. I have a road trip to Snowdonia on 4th June, anyone want to guess whether or not I'll be going in a Mach E or my Mum's petrol Hyundai? How long can it take for a car to get from Dagenham to Plymouth.... FYI It's still showing Compound Out on F12 from when it left Flushing on Friday evening, but I'm not really expecting that to change much now.

The F12 data was very very delayed on mine. The car was at the dealership, but F12 showed it was still in Flushing. Have faith - but I can relate to the impatience - knowing that my car is only a mile up the road has been torture.... 21hrs 23minutes to go .... ?

Sounds like my car has completed it PDI and is now in the valet station getting spruced up ready for tomorrow. Just checked my etis dates and they haven't changed. I think questions about WHAT has actually happened in Antwerp need to be top of my handover list but I very much doubt if I will get and answer.
