I agree with you ! This will have to wait. I don’t want them to make it worse !

I have a Blackvue dashcam fitted permanently (at least the mount) with it hardwired into the rear view mirror, so I'm not letting Ford grease monkeys near it...

I've just been booked in for mine on 8th April allowing time for the screen that was ordered today to be delivered. Having seen your post earlier I asked "Who would be fitting it?" ... and the response was "our local windscreen fitter."

That to me says not a national chain, but a local independent automotive glass fitter.

So yes it does pose an interesting question about if you break you screen due to a stone or something - who you gonna call?
You'll be lucky if you get your screen by then. Mine has been on order for 6 weeks now and my dealer still doesn't know when it is arriving. Mine has been booked in for 5 & 6th April so at least I can get the roof and the update done. I imagine by now you are in a state of limbo as Grande Torino will be out of range of AIS so you won't know where she is. I will check on her progress next week and give your new car a wave as it passes Portland.

Yeah give her a wave as she passes - she'll be passing you on Sunday afternoon (ish)

To be fair the date for my windscreen is provisional at the moment, but if it's too much later I'll tell them to sort it after I've swapped it for Big Ginge. It's their problem after that ?

Ours was collected by Vospers in Exeter last Monday and it’s ready this morning - we will pick it up shortly. I can let you know how it goes…. On the upside, they have also applied all the updates and suddenly my range is showing 382 miles…..! I fully expect it to not be that much once we start to drive it again, but we will see…. For sure better than we were seeing before the updates…

Right then, question for you guys.
Has anyone on here ACTUALLY had their windscreen recall done. If you have, did the dealer themselves do it or did they call in a windscreen specialist to do the job? The reason I ask is because the 2 main companies that my dealer use are REFUSING to do the job, even though my car and the dealers' demo car are both having replacement screens and not a removal/re-adhesion. I can understand an issue with potential damages with the latter but the former is worrying. What is concerning is that if we need a replacement for any reason other than this recall will they do it then or are we going to have this problem then as well.
If anyone has had it done, please let me know who did it for you so I can get mine done.
Thanks in advance.
.

Aww thanks - that’s really kind of you.

I have a Marine Traffic account with sat monitoring. This is where she’s at midday Friday….

@Wonky_Donkey. Sorry didn't get to wave to your car yesterday as it passed me. It must have been on a go slow as I don't think it went by until late. Wouldn't have been able to see it anyway as there was quite a bit of sea mist about most of the day. Have Ford given you an estimate to how long your new one will spend in Antwerp? I do hope it is not as long as the first time round. Surely they have got their quality issues sorted by now.

She snuck past you under the cover of darkness around midnight. ?

She's due to dock in the early hours. I think unload will be sometime mid morning Tuesday.

ETA to dealer is the end of April - so about another 4 weeks. We've got Easter slap bang in the middle of all that as well so I'm personally guessing on 1st week of May.

Am still wrangling the numbers with the dealership at the moment, their buy back /trade in figure for Big Red has fallen well short (by several thousand £) of what other trade-in services are quoting. I'm confident we'll get to where we need to be ;)

Trouble is that they have you over a barrel. They have the car you want, you can't sell Big Red privately because there is an outstanding recall, they can't sell Big Red for the same reason so they will be looking to buy it as cheap as possible.
I see GT docked at 0300 this morning so it is getting closer. Just hope you get a good deal. ??
