Even if changing to an EV for one reason only, the ability to remote start and cool down the interior is priceless in the weather we're having at the moment. :) :)

Well, what a typical Ford ??. I read the article detailed below and thought great. It would appear that i assumed (wrongly) that the website that I got the info from was a Ford website.

Ford Mustang Mach-E Officially Approved To Carry Roof Loads (fordauthority.com)

I emailed [email protected] to see if they could tell me what roof bars that Ford used in the promotional pics in the article so I could think about getting some. After a phone call from them yesterday, today I received this.

Thank you for your time on the phone yesterday.

After further investigation. we are still recommending not to carry a roof load on the Mach-E. This doesn't appear to have been officially approved by Ford. Although it does say this on certain websites, it has not been confirmed on any ford affiliated site. My apologies for any confusion here.

As usual with Ford and their announcements, the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. Surely someone at Ford must have made this announcement.

The problem with sites like that is they conflate both Ford US and Ford EU / UK information together. So in that article alone they talk about towing capacity in Europe being upgraded to 1000kg, but I get the feeling that the roof bar stuff was based on a US press release.

It makes it mighty confusing.

Update on this. Took my MME to Evans Halshaw Bedford, same people who has done the roof recall.

They said my local EH dealership had not done the recall work even though it was shown updated in the system.

They carried out rhe software update. They don't seem to give jobsheet copies to customers so I have only their word for it and a photocopy of the technician's handwritten note that PCM module wasn't done by my dealership.

I have no reason to disbelieve Bedford and will inform Ford UK about my local dealership.

Anyone been to Bedford? They said a few MachEs had come to them for this recall.
My model year 2022 AWD SR was delivered through Evans Halshaw Bedford. I found them good to deal with. However, I have now moved house to Preston so cannot take the car to them for the 22S41 recall work. However, there is an Evans Halshaw in Preston and I am booked in for the recall on 26 September. They told me they are only doing one recall each week as they only have one EV technician and they want to have plenty of time to do everything properly. So it is a long wait without the software update. They are offering their demonstrator Mustang Mach E as courtesy car while they have my car.

Yesterday I used the Ionity DCFC chargers at Cambridge Services on the A14 and saw 109kW charging rate on the charger display. That's the highest I have seen so far when DC fast charging this car - a 2022 AWD standard range. I believe the onboard systems limit the DC charge rate to 115kW on cars with the standard range battery. I have to admit that I did think about the heat being generated in my contactors while this was running... I am pleased to say that there have been no ill effects and the car is fine. I charged for only 7 minutes as I just needed a "splash and dash" / "charge and go" to get to my destination. Overall the average charge rate was 82kW over the 7 minutes. I used the Ford Pass app to activate the charger, plugged in, and off it went. At 30p/kWh because of the 1 year premium membership (or whatever it is called) that comes with the car, it was a bargain compared with the likes of 66p/kWh coming soon on InstaVolt.

I have had my RWD ER MME now for just over 14 months. So far, touch wood, I have not had any major issues with the car. Apart from the designated recalls the only other "failure" I have had has been my left hand rear light cluster went haywire. New one fitted under warranty and fine at the moment. I have, of course have had/still have got minor software glitches but nothing to lessen the pure satisfaction I have every time I get in the car to drive it.
As all owners of the MME (and electric in general) will know, the costs involved in running one are quite a bit less than an ICE vehicle (at the moment anyway). No road tax, saving £145, no luxury vehicle tax for cars over £40,000, saving £350 ish a year for 5 years. Cheaper servicing. Now "fuel" costs are even better. I have done 9340 miles so far and have been averaging 4.8 mls/kwh, according to trip 2, meaning I have used 1946 kwh of electricity. For the first 8 months I was charging at home using Octopus Go rates for 98% of my charging. Since February this year I have been using my work charger (so impressed with the MME I bought a Vauxhall e-Vivaro for the business) so 98% charging has been done there. The rate at work is more but I am not directly paying for it. Using my work current cost of 24p/kwh my MME has cost overall roughly £467. My old Kuga did 40mpg, so at todays prices that would have cost me £1805. Impressive.
The WLTP guide for my MME is 379 miles on a full charge. I have never been certain whether that is using a battery capacity of 98.7kw (total capacity) or the useable capacity of 88kw. Given my 4.8 mls/kwh that means I am acheiving 473/422 miles. If I have got my maths correct then I am well pleased.
My MME is the most expensive car I have ever owned. It is the best car I have ever owned. It is also the most enjoyable car I have ever driven. Best automotive decision I have ever made. It will take a lot to beat this purchase. Ford have got 3 years to try.

Morning all, looking for some advice from the wise please. I have an MME on order with Lex Autolease (company car) since March 21st and they have an ETA date of 18/11/22 which has never changed since day 1 of the order. After much prodding and asking them to get more info from the dealer they have basically given me their name and number and told me to chase myself. So the dealer is John Grose Ford Ipswich, anyone know them? I'm going to give them a call to aske for an update - what sort of data should I be asking from them so I can try and track it - Ford order number, VIN if it's avaialble whether they know if it has been built yet....any thing else? Many thanks

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I will be VERY surprised if the dealer will give you any information. They will probably quote GDPR rules to you and say that as Lex Autolease is the "customer" they will not be able to pass any details to you. In reality it is they that should get the necessary details to keep you informed. You might try to get written consent from Lex to the dealer to give you access. Having said that, most factory built cars are on a 32 week (8 months) turnaround so November sounds about right. Best of luck. Going by past experiences I would guess that it is nearly at the build stage, if they have all the bits, as delivery from Veracruz to dealer has been taking 10 - 12 weeks.

Got an update from them, very helpful. Car is built, has a VIN number (but he didn;t give me that) and was released on 12th July, currently on the ship en-route to Europe, estimate early to mid October. Happy with that as an update tbh.

My MME is also a company car lease vehicle. The lease company gave me the email address of the person delaing with it at the dealer, so I forwarded the email to that person and asked for the VIN which they gave me. I was then able to monitor the progress in a fashion. Worth giving a go, especially if you have an email from the lease company with the details?

I ordered mine on the 2nd Feb 22 and it was built on the 12th July and sat in Veracruz, where I think it boarded a ship on the 6th Aug supposed to arrive in Antwerp end of August.

whereismymme.com says it is still in Veracruz, but I am hoping that isn’t correct. I was told to expect it end of Oct.

Mine is also a lease, ordered in March. It is currently in Antwerp although WIMMME says COMPOUND OUT. 11/08/22. My delivery date has just slipped from September 17th to October 7th.

Just had the connectors software update done on my mach e at EH in Altrincham. Not noticed anything has changed. No paperwork supplied when car was collected. Hoping something will update in the service history on myford app.

Don’t hold your breath :)

In 16 months of ownership, two Mach-E’s, a few recalls and fix it trips to the dealer - I’ve never had anything entered in the online service record / FordPass app / been given any paperwork.

So I’m guessing that that’s just how Ford rocks. When the first service is done however I’d be expecting to see something for sure.

Mine was updated last week also at EH Altrincham. They did say that Ford was paperless and all info was on the vehicles digital record. It would be useful to have access to this however.
