18 1/2 hours and no sign of any movement. She must be loading an awful lot of cars. Looks promising for some.

I assume it got in last night but they didn't necessarily start loading until this morning their time (this afternoon for us)?

Time is (a lot of) money when alongside. Very surprised if the stevedores weren't on the Quay ready to go as soon as the stern ramp came down. It's the same principle as container ships

Time is money. Most certainly when it comes to transport.
I worked in one of the largest ports in Europe and that was 24/7 business. Even for loading RoRo’s. What can be done at night is done at night.
shipping company really don’t want to have a vessel longer then necessary at a port just because loading can’t be done at night.

leave depends on how many cars are unloaded and loaded. My experience from the Pilots and friends in Ports, loading/unloading a RoRo is max 2 days.

You are absolutely right.
I was in this business quite a few years. Only the difference is that in this ports the port control is a bit different than European and Japanese ports and take a bit more time. Now with Covid is even more difficult, but must to be gone till tomorrow if everything is good.

How many cars can they load per hour? 1 per minute?
Depends how many drivers they have, and how far they have to go back to get the next one :)

I was thinking 20 drivers with an average of 8 minutes per car. 60 ÷ 8 = 7.5 × 20 = 150. She's been alongside for 22 hours so potentially you could be looking at about 3000+ cars give or take. Absolute off the chart guess.

Just had a reply from Rebecca regarding the cars that are hopefully on the ship. She sent me this.

"Know that we have a plan in place to let the dealers know which cars are on the ship so they can contact all the customers and let them know the good news"

I would give them a couple of days after the ship has sailed, not much longer I hope, to get the info out to the dealers before you start ringing them. I will however continue with my ways to see if I can get any news sooner.

Best of luck all
