Hi, matey.

How do you ‘look online’ to find this info out of compound in / compound out?

Thanks in advance
So its using the F12 method on the Ford website.

There are quite a few posts about it with some step by step instructions.

Basically login to the Ford website and then press F12 to bring up the developer tools section

The section on the right in yellow if you select that text and copy it all out you get something like this

{"result":{"vin":"WF0TR1R7XXXXXXX","order":{"type":"order","number":"106XXXXX","contractSource":"Web","gobStatusCode":"VPRT","gobStatusDesc":"AtPort","vmacs2CharCode":"92","vmacs3CharCode":"721","vmacsStatusDesc":"COMPOUND OUT ","vmacsStatusDate":"2021-04-26 14:45:00.0","gobStatusDate":"2021-05-03 08:49:18.0"}},"error":null}

Hi all

i understand everyones frustrations - I have been waiting since September and many of you a lot longer. But like wonkey I have taken a step back but maybe come to a different conclusion

I have a 40 year plus history of driving fords and have rarely had a problem. (yes I know the mustang is software in the shape of a car which ford have little experience of like all the major manufacturers ). But at least this is an ev from the ground up unlike many of the big car manufacturers offerings

Positives

I have never got excited about buying a car in the past - my last car 2013 kuga I walked into the showroom with my golf clubs and asked for a car to fit them!

Getting an ev has finally nudged me to get solar panels which I had always put off

But I am excited re a car for the first time ever, it makes me feel good to buy a car that runs on sunshine rather than diesel. The car looks good, better than any other ev in my opinion.

I have read the manual through at least 3 times. Not sure I have looked at my kuga's manual more than 5 times in the 8 years I have had it. That shows my level of excitement re this purchase

I have enjoyed the experience on here and the anticipation we have all had. My dealer has been as helpful as he can be especially as they are making little out of the sale.

My Kuga has now gone to my daughter, and I have been driving around in my mates 30 yr old volvo for the last 4 weeks - so far the drivers wing mirror and the exhaust have fallen off. So the mustang is going to be a huge upgrade.

Yes I really want it before my road trip to Scotland on the 17th June but it will eventually come and I will be grateful

Negatives

The wait - the closer it gets to arriving the worse it has got

The ford UK experience - I don't need to say anymore

The biggest factor is if I cancelled now what would I do. All cars are going to be delayed due to the semiconductor shortage. The only cars that wouldn't seem like a letdown would be the model x and taycan estate thing, both of which are twice the mustang price and out of my reach so I will be sticking till the end and feel very happy when it does arrive
I loved the Kuga I had - the 2017 version - but it drank Petrol!

Before that the Focus was a good work horse and the 1990's Puma was beautiful to drive and look at.

The only time I ventured away from Ford was the 1990's Tigra which was lovely but after 18months the engine destroyed itself which apparently was a well known issue with the Tigra.

Like you say - something designed/built from the ground up as an EV is an attractive quality and after the test drive it felt like the best upgrade from a Kuga.

Just because we ordered through Ford, if you read the contract it is with the dealer and not Ford. Also when you put the deposit down it went into the dealers bank and not Ford's. Just check your bank or credit card statement and show them that if you have any issues. Their reluctance is due to the fact that they aren't making the money on the MME like the other cars they sell. They have had one slight respite though. They were suppose to take ownership of the cars when they were loaded onto a ship in Veracruz. Because of all the cancellations I believe that has now changed and they will not have to pay for them until they reach Dagenham and are despatched.
My dealer denies despite what it says on my Bank statement that Ford have not transferred them the deposit money... this all came out after my simple request to have an invoice for my deposit which resulted in a three way conversation between Ford Online, Dealer and myself. Net result absolutely impossible to get anything apart from a Vista Screenshot to prove deposit payment until the car is cleared UK Customs. Needless to say Energy Saving trust refused my Charger grant based off a screenshot.......

Out of interest Graham what do you get in this section, anything at all?

I get all that in the name column but for some reason I can't get any of the other details in the response column. Don't know why but I am past caring. It'll come when it comes no matter how much worrying I do. Blood pressure is getting high so I need to chill. Focusing on my test drive on Saturday

In other news - I was one of those that despite having ordered a Mach-E had also put a £100 reservation down on a Kia EV6.

Over the last couple of weeks where it has been time to go from being on a wait list, to assigning a local dealership of choice, to actually placing an order, Kia have been very proactive and have really put Ford to shame.

The experiences between the two companies have been like night and day and Ford could learn a great deal on how to communicate and deal with customers.

I know the EV6 and the Mach-E are not directly comparable, but in my view the KIA is a nice looking car and not as expensive as the Mustang.

Depending on delivery dates I could be ultimately swayed to the Kia because based on experience so far they would probably treat me better as a customer than Ford ever would!
@Wonky_Donkey have you been into the dealership yet?
Sorry in advance long message. I hope you have better experience than me arrived today to an appointment I was requested to attend to progress my pre-reservation. Dealer had no clue and apologised for coming across as incompetent as he started by saying I know nothing about this car it's new. Continued 'my manager has printed these specs but I have not read them yet shall we read them together.' I got him to copy them for me and he tried to tell me I had to order by tomorrow and I said no that's wrong pre-reservations to order are by the 17th May. Went to manager and turned out I knew more then both of them??‍♂ They think they may get a demo by September, wanted £2000 deposit, think the car may arrive in October, did not know if car was affected by conductor shortage. Then went on to tell me nightmares they had with e-niro delays. Really selling the car lads! Bottom line they had limited info from Kia, had no idea about options, spec, delivery dates etc. This all began to sound too familiar to me!
On top of that tried to get a test drive vwid4. Salesman was not interested when I could not do one in line with his days. Would not take my details and told me to call back and speak to someone else! You want my business you should be calling me to arrange??‍♂. I have everything crossed my second mach e test drive goes well tomorrow as it seems Ford are not alone in poor communication ?And damn do I want this mustang ?Just hurry the hell up!

Just got back from my test drive... I thought the car drive very well. I get the bumps at slow speed but I personally think it's a non issue. I thought the damners did their job but you can't change the law of physics (StarTrek quote?) and we are sitting on a VERY heavy battery.

A must bigger issue for me was the snappy breaks. The one pedal driving took more getting used to than the iPace as it was quite abrump. You can change the level hight to low with the L button but I forgot that until it was too late.

It's a very rapid vehicle for sure... beautifully quiet and very smooth above 40mph. The 30 to 70 acceleration is fantastic. It felt like my old GTR but without the noise. Other cars stand still when you do that.

I liked it a lot but need some time to digest it. The boot space is a little small for what is quite a large car but I think I can work around that. It's a great car but not completely bowled over TBH.

I will add in that Jaquar were rubbish with me as well.

Was going to get an I Pace back in January before I found the MME.

Called a dealer and spoke to them basically said I'm looking to order ASAP as my current lease car was going back soon.

He was nice enough took my email, phone number etc and suggested I looked at the online car builder.

I said I was looking to place an order in the next couple of days.

Not long after putting thee phone down saw an advert for the MME and changed my mind but never heard from Jaquar again.
Thought I was going to get bombarded with emails, calls etc but nothing at all.

Car dealers are a funny, odd place!!
