Just been for a test drive in an AWD ER, can honestly say I made the right decision ordering the Mach-e a few weeks ago (SR RWD). Car was amazing to sit in and drive, can’t wait for October to come now so it can get delivered.

Hi all,

Just a brief update on the "Failed OTA" issue

I spoke with the MME Customer Support Team yesterday, and the basic outcome was that they had escalated this issue last week with the Technical Team (not sure whether they are in the UK or US).

Sadly, it appears that the Technical Team do not respond to the MME Customer Support Team, but they would send out a "new" update in due course ?

I did not have a lot of confidence in this, and this was proved to be correct in that I have just had another "Update Failed - Will Retry As Soon as Possible" notification in FordPass.

This has, in my case, been going on for two weeks now and I plan to post this to the Ford account later tomorrow, to see if we can get a resolution to the issue.

Before doing so, I just thought I'd check to see (a) how many of us still have issues with OTA updates, and (b) if anyone has had success with the recent update (i.e. in the last week) ?

If they don't sort this out, we will all have to go to our dealers for updates ?

Thanks,
David
Hi @David-HC. I've had the car three weeks and have had a total of seven failed updates, with the latest one being at 12:21 today!

I know this may sound like a silly question and I am certain someone will take umbridge but I will ask anyway. To those of you who are getting notifications of failed updates, are you certain you have your sync set up properly. I have received 2 without issue. This is what my sync looks like.

Hi All - fantastic forum and great to see people enjoying their Mach E's.

I have a question re. order and delivery dates.

I placed my order on the 11/3/21 (very late compared to most of you).

My expected delivery date is now beginning of November.

There is a entry of Modem Authorisation (Accepted Date) 8/6/2021 on the manage order (ford site | Manage Order).

This date is similar to the date I chased them for a delivery date. This also happens to be roughly 20weeks from November. Do I take it the dealer dropped the ball here? and hadn't confirmed the order? They are saying that it was ordered on the 11/3/21. Is order to delivery really taking 40weeks, as on their website it says 20-23 weeks.

Any help appreciated.

With all the issues that most people on here have had with their dealers throughout this whole process, who knows. Your Ford account should have an order date in your Manage my orders page. I don't think the modem authorisation date has anything to do with the order

Okay thanks Portlandg.

So the status changed to 'In production' last week. Anyone know how long it takes from here to move to 'On its way'?

According to my Ford dealer my MME is currently at Liverpool, no doubt enjoying watching the planes at JLA!
We went with absolute black. As this is a solid paint we are considering diamondbrite before delivery. Has anyone out tried this and what were the results?

We had diamondbrite applied by the dealer for free as a good will gesture. Wasn't overly thrilled by it, water beading went downhill very quickly. I certainly wouldn't pay for it. Depending on how much the dealer is charging you may be better off finding a dedicated detailer who can talk you through other coating options. I think there may be a map or providers on the Detailingworld forums that may be worth a look.

I bought the autoglym Polar 3 step system which is giving me longer lasting water beading than the diamondbrite did

hi, When did you order your car?

Do people rate diamondbrite compared to a ceramic wax?

Do you use the schedule or automatic update? Can you show that screen, please?

They are 2 different things. The automatic updates button is on and that is to automatically download the updates when they are ready. If you turn it off then you have to search for updates manually.
The schedule updates is for when you want the car to apply the downloaded updates, which I have cleared. I'll accept and install when I want. That way I can tell when I have had one.
Because my car won't remember my wifi passwords and automatically connect I have to re-enter my passwords every time I change wifi network ie when I go home from work and vice versa. As I am on the screen anyway I always search for new updates manually as well.

Good shout about those settings.

Have had a look at mine and they seem to be the same.

I’m just concerned about wifi strength. In the wifi network my network shows up twice! One shows strength as fair and the other shows as excellent. Which one to believe?!?
