Hi Sapphocat,

Unfortunately still nothing this morning! Was supposed to have been unloaded and on its merry way by yesterday evening, but still seems to be moored - presumably still unloading.

One day overlap i can deal with, but hopefully it doesn't have a knock on effect for the clearance side of things and all vehicles can make their way to Amsterdam relatively swiftly!

That being said, directly alongside the Torino is the Chopin (Belgian Tanker), so it might just be a case that the ship has unloaded and they're simply re-fuelling for the next leg of their journey...

Do you have a MME on the Torino as well?

Might be the wrong place, but…

Am I right in saying if you have CarPlay connected then the live traffic doesn’t work on the built in map?

If so, is this only the case if it’s bluetooth or does it still not work with wired CarPlay too?

Yeah, sometimes a week according to the owner of the site (Louis), the thing is i'm tracking the ship itself and can see it on the map as still being alongside the docks in Antwerp, as i say though i think they're simply refuelling still as they have a Belgian fuel tanker sat directly beside them.

I'd presume we'll get confirmation it's in Antwerp over the coming days and then the next update will likely be that they're on their way to Amsterdam to be brought into the UK.

Fingers crossed in a month or so we'll have our new MME's

Yeah, that's right - it's still there as of 3 minutes ago on the satellite tracking system i'm using for the ship.

I'm sure it's all going to plan and we'll get an update soon enough

Not that i want to contradict what Wonkey has said, as he is the godfather of this forum ?

BUT...

I am 99% sure your vehicle is on the Grande Florida which left Veracruz on the 8th March, directly correlating to your status change - it looks like it's due to dock in Antwerp on Sunday 3rd April, so not far behind the Torino.

I don't have the manifest / shipping number to hand to check for you, but Wonkey might be able to help in that regard - it's also possible that your shipping tab in wheresmymme will update soon and give you the shipment number, at which point you can check against your VIN to be sure it's on that vessel.

I think you’re right - I checked the VIN against the Grimaldi tracker and it hasn’t shown up - so it’s in shipping limbo LOL

Pretty sure that it's on the Grande Florida to be honest, it left the same day that John's VMAC status changed, just like ours with the Torino.

Might be worth checking the shipment number when it's available on wheresmymme and compare against the RORO as you suggest?

You can have the map in CarPlay or listen to CarPlay and look at the Ford map at the same time. Is that what you mean?

I’m sure the unload of our vehicles is well and truly finished - but don’t forget these ships are like planes and they never run empty of cargo. It will be loading up with EU made vehicles that will be going back to the USA for the return trip.

Very good point! still has a tanker sitting on it's port side so it might be re-fuelling at the same time?

Looked at the schedule for the Torino after Antwerp and looks like it's leaving Antwerp today, travelling around Europe & The Med before heading back to the US & Verazcruz over April and May - so yeah, that would make perfect sense that it's loading up with new vehicles etc.

Hopefully the customs / QA sails through (pun intended) and we start seeing further progress over the coming days.

Any further developments with Big Red getting the price he deserves?

I use Android Auto and what you say is true for AA. I have to disable AA to be able to engage live traffic via my FP app and then use the built in sat nav. My preference is AA. That tends to show roadworks and holdups anyway and sometimes will tell you an alternative route.

Looks good thus far, seems RORO has updated my MME as being discharged at port now, see below:

When I got back to my MME and started it up, I noticed that CarPlay was running in a larger area of the screen than previously. I thought, “We’ll that only happens with the new sync updates, but there’s no way it’s done that in the 20 minutes I’ve been out of the car and with a relatively low battery.”

Turns out that’s exactly what it did. So, I thought, that means I can use the new EV routing feature in Apple Maps. My iPhone is on 15.4, the car is running sync 2.3, but I don’t get any prompts to connect the car with my phone when I try and use Apple maps. Anyone else of the lucky few with newer sync versions managed to get it to work?

A few of us 2.3'ers have been chatting about the Apple Maps EV Routing today and we don't think it's been turned on for UK yet, but I don't know who owns the "ON" switch - is it Ford or Apple?

thats just rubbing it in for all of us no further on than 1.6. Sounds like Ford can deploy OTAs if they want to but have a really weird deployment strategy.
