For those who had cars on the Grande Torino that were discharged in Antwerp on 29th March….

Noticed a backdated status change on mine today, and after 3 weeks of apparent nothingness it has progressed to “ANT CUST” (Antwerp Customs)

Hopefully the rest of you will also see that change shown as a “COMPOUND IN” dated around 14th April.

Still on track for an early May delivery?
Can confirm a change on 14/4 but status is still in Transit, although dealer has invited me in on 3rd May

Thanks for the update Wonkey, the weird thing with mine is that the status changed yesterday to compound in, but on the 11th April.. no other status info like VITR etc:

Not sure why i'm not getting any other info other than the above? No GOB status so literally no idea what stage mine is at in Antwerp currently ?

Don’t read anything into the website not having certain bits of data showing up for your car.

The GOB Status of “In Transit” is basically the only status you will see in that field from the moment it leaves the factory to the moment it arrives at your dealer. It just means it’s been built and is on it’s way. When it arrives it becomes “VAFD“ (Vehicle at Final Destination). There‘s not a huge amount to be gleaned from this info during the transportation process.

Secondly the VMACS data is not a reliable track of where your car is at any given moment. The data shown is at best a couple of days out of date - sometimes more than a week old. It’s a good indicator of what checkpoints the car has been through (past tense) but not where it is now.

We’ve become so accustomed to live tracking data on our purchases these days - but this info isn’t working at that level of detail.

What I’m trying to say in a really nice way is - try not to stress about it. It’s built, it’s on it’s way, it’s in the final leg of the long journey :)

Thanks for that Wonkey - stress levels reduced, mission accomplished ? - the dealer called me yesterday and said provisional ETA to them is the 7th May, so i'll keep my fingers crossed for the long awaited call in a couple weeks time :)

Any update on yours incidentally?

It sounds like you have a proactive dealer which is a good start!

I think mine is more of a “we’ll call when it turns up on the transporter” kinda setup LOL

So credit to @waltermorel for spotting that somebody flicked a switch overnight enabling EV Routing using Apple Maps on CarPlay in the UK.

If you are lucky enough to have Power-Up 2.3 installed on your Mach-E and iOS 15.4.1 on your iPhone then Apple maps will now suggest charge locations on long routes.

MME RR ER RWD ?
Country flag
Hi,

I had a couple of questions in relation to our various recalls, as mine is booked in for two weeks time to do the pano roof, windscreen (replacement) and software.

I've had my RWD ER for 10 months (a Job#1 car from late 2020!) and it's still great, albeit a few on-going niggles ??

Re: the software update, I'm on 2.3 already (I think!) so is there any way of finding out what modules/updates need to be applied when the car goes in ?

On the roof and windscreen, like @portlandg , I'll video/photo all round but hopefully like him and @Tony.T all will be well. Has anyone had any problems with either the roof or windscreen work ?

Finally, my rear brake disks are fairly badly scored while the front disks are perfect- this has been on-going and there have been various posts on the subject, but I wondered whether anyone had new disks fitted to remedy this (hopefully under warranty) ? If so, I'll see if I can get this done at the same time.

Thanks for any thoughts or help on this,
David

There is a set list of modules that Ford will update as part of the satisfaction program. These are different to the module that your SYNC software runs on. (eg Battery Control Module & Door Controller Modules.) The update process will only present the technician with a list of what needs to be done, and if anything has already been completed it won’t appear. If you drop me a message with your VIN number I can check what is outstanding for you.

I had issues when they did the roof - they accidentally disconnected my rear wash wipe hose in the roof. It had to go back again for them to reconnect it as it was squirting water into the roof and boot trim.

Raise it as a concern with them and see what happens. Some people have had luck, others no so much. I think it depends on how nice you are to the person on the service check-in desk.

Ford refused to rectify my badly scored discs. I have taken this up with the lease company. I will not be buying another Ford if they continue to treat their customers this way.

Hi @Wonky_Donkey

Many thanks for all the information in your reply - that's really helpful to know!

I will send you a message with my VIN if that's OK.

Much appreciated,
David

Hi @grovep

Sorry to hear that - it doesn't seem right.

I've leased my car (first time ever!) through Ford. I wonder if that might help. Did you lease through them as well?

As @Wonky_Donkey said, my dealer has been very good so perhaps they might help?

Hope you get your's sorted out ?

Mine is a company car leased through Arval. Ford seem to think honouring their warranty is optional. My previous Ford was bought new back in 1994. I had a puncture shorly afterwards and found that all four wheels were seized on. Ford refused to repair it under the warranty then and it seems like nothing has changed since.

I use Android Auto so I am very jealous of this feature! For the fellow Android users, I find that you can ask, via Google assistant, to find electric vehicle charging spots along your route and it will show the points. You can then select the destination which matches your range remaining!

To be honest, they're aware that if they don't call me with weekly updates at the moment, i'll call them so either way i'll get an update of some description ?

I'm sure its now a matter of weeks, as opposed to months - fingers crossed you get an ETA from them soon!
