Hi all - not too much to share from this mornings little viewing.

If you are going to an event be aware it’s been split into three sections:

1) Touch screen guided overview of EV benefits, and details of various UK towns that are bringing in EV friendly policies such as bus lane use. (5-10mins)

2)Touch screen guided overview of Sync4A (5-10mins)

3) Time with the car (10-15mins)

The car I saw today was a pre-production model - but one that was very recently built and was as close as you’ll get to a customer model. It was also a right hand drive!

Few points...

The windscreen has a Ford logo at the top

And finally I am very very happy to confirm that the Qi charging pad for phones in the centre console will accommodate an iPhone 12 Pro Max

Any questions just shout. I’ve been offered additional time with the vehicle if required both today or tomorrow (Sunday)

Thanks, did you say you were seeing it in edgware? Do you know which model it is and whether they can show you what the differences will be on other models (I'm very visual so once I see something it really sticks, but I'm getting only the rwd sr). Was there anyone that knew about it to ask questions to? Excited for tomorrow morning!

I was at the Norwich event. I think they have two on the go at the same time.

The one on show was the AWD ER model (or “Mach-E 4 X” as we should be referring to it)

There are Ford roadshow people there who are reasonably well informed on the key points, although I did manage to show them a couple of things that they didn’t know. So I’m not going to call them “experts” for that reason but they are well informed.

Your best bet to see the differences between models is to compare the renders on the car configurator on the Ford UK website. As with most demos they will always show you the top spec to show the vehicle off to its best.

Thanks. Yes I expected them showing off the top spec, and I intend to take a list of things that are on the Sr rwd so I can try to ignore what I am seeing! Can't wait to see it in real life!

Thanks for that. Hope you didn't put them to shame with your knowledge ? Was it one on one or was there a group?

There were 4 Roadshow reps. Someone to greet you, two to do the individual touch screen presentations, and then someone to supervise your private 1:1 session with the car.

As soon as I had finished my session with the car a little man scurried out from somewhere and did a full COVID wipe down of the vehicle ready for the next customer.

And yes I did give them some “guidance” on some vehicle features, but I did it in a very polite and non condescending way LOL Although the Sync4A demo guy did start to annoy me as he has some duff info and when I said nicely “Oh I’d heard that actually it’s xxxxxxxx” he just carried on with his version as if I hadn’t said anything.

But on the whole they were all lovely, and I finally got to meet my Ford Store Manager in person who I’d been speaking to for a while on the phone.

I just returned from seeing it at Edgware. LHD Rapid Red AWD ER pre production model. When I arrived the 12v battery had run out. So I had the pleasure of only seeing it with hood open and charging cables coming out of it

The staff are all less knowledgeable than anyone who has been watching the Forums. There was a customer who said he had a Feb delivery date but the Ford staff looked at me as if to say “that’s not happening” although who knows.

I asked if they had a sample of the grabber blue - they didn’t. Said it was supposed to be arriving today but hadn’t.

I still love the look and feel of the car, I just wish Ford would have answers and not hide behind supply chain issues!

Vote in here please? FE 21/5/21 or AWD ER 28/5/21?

Yes - should I go for the FE or there RWD
Why are you asking us to make a decision for you that only you can make. If you want my advice, after all the comments you have made on here, it would be to buy a Tesla

That’s not what you asked... but I’d take the RWD... the reviewers seem to suggest that it is the one that most resembles a regular Mustang for drive dynamic... only way better. AWD, it seems, is a little harder to swing the back out with, and even then is really small.
