Side question, I remember seeing it I believe in a review but can't recall and can't seem to find it but does anyone have the actual dimensions of the cargo area with the back seats folded down? I'm not looking for the cubic inches, I'm looking for actual dimensions.

Two thoughts on that:
  • We haven't seen similar articles about Mach-E's being repaired
  • If its fixed before I get it what does it matter?
I am not worried at all! By the time I place an order you guys have already completed the quality check ? But on a more serious note, I agree with you that any quality issues addressed before delivery do not impact the end user.

These leaks appear to be coming from the UAW.

The immediate issue would be delayed delivery, and if history repeats the Explorer scenario, then not all the problems were fixed and many continued onto the buyer. It also drove Ford's warranty expenses through the roof.

Per an "unusual memo" released in September, the Flat Rock plant was on standby for a "worst case scenario" with the F-150 lauch.

The Explorer fiasco was Hacket, the Mach-E (and Bronco and F-150 now) are Farley who has vowed not to repeat the Exporer fiasco.

Indeed the info is coming from the UAW and local to Ford's HQ; the Mach-E's plant is out of sight out of mind...

Excepting for the fact that Ford KNOWs that all 3.5 launches are VERY important to the company (3.5 = Mach-E + F-150 + Bronco and Bronco Sport[.5]).

Maybe I’m too old because I grew up in the era of Gunsmoke and Bonanza. And my son’s girlfriend has three horses.
I'm familiar with the term as well and thought it fit the Mustang concept very well (go Texan stereotypes!).

Same here, and I'm from NJ. I can see why they changed the name "stampede"; some lawyer would sue Ford on behalf of a client who caused a fatal accident by saying Ford told them to drive crazy.

this was talked about on another thread. They found an issue, they fixed it in new ones coming off the line. Those are being shipped out. The ones being parked haven’t been fixed for the issue. But pumping out a new F-150 every 53 seconds, those stockpiles aren’t really an issue.
"What I’ve seen with my eyeballs, they were installing seat belts, fixing trim that didn't fit, refitting doors, changing harnesses out, doing some electrical work," Sawatzke said of the work in Flat Rock. "When you’ve got a new car, you strip the car interior and put in all new harnesses. You don’t splice wires on an $80,000 pickup or any new vehicle for that matter."

Not sure I would appreciate the interior of my new truck to be completely removed and replaced to change out electrical harnesses.

Would you rather have a dealer do it that may have never done that exact job before or a team that is dedicated to doing only that 1 job?

Well, not your eyeballs. But I have seen it. And I Do know. They are making sure everything is 100%. Just that simple. Their seat belt are fine. past test. But they are not fine to ford standard. So when the new ones came in from the supplier they are getting fixed. Ford is not going to miss up the launch of the 3 vehicles. Too much riding on it and the demand for all three is crazy.

In fact, the three most in-demand vehicles from 2020 to 2021 are ford products. You don't have the number 1 selling truck for ever for no reason.

I know anything I buy I rather they fix it now than sell it to me and I have to keep going back and back and take MONTHS. Same ole person some ole drama just thread to thread.

It's a moot point in this specific case. The article went on to quote Ford spokesperson who denied that the remediation involves any wire, electrical, or door work.

In a product as complex as a car, there is always a certain amount of rework in a certain percentage of vehicles produced. It is pretty much impossible to produce large batches of any product that all roll off the line with zero flaws or defects. I’d prefer those flaws or defects, even small ones, be found and corrected at the factory, where they have the know how, tooling, and everything about the vehicle is still pristine and fits well, rather than by me, after bouncing around on PA’s roads for a few months ?

Trick question.

The correct answer is neither.

p.s. It’s a little odd that the Ford spokesman said they are doing software updates. Why would you have to ship a vehicle with OTA capability to another factory to do software updates?

Because the vehicles are in transport mode to save battery

I honestly can’t believe you are arguing about the fact that they are making sure everything is correct before it hits the dealers lots. That is the craziest thing I ever heard. Who cares what the defects were and why they are stockpiled. The fact they were found and being corrected prior to shipping is amazing. That is showing how much Farley’s influence on quality control is already impacting what the final product the customers get.

As much as everyone can’t wait to get behind the wheel of their Mach E’s, Ford is not concerned about delaying them to make sure everything they can find is corrected. I Love It! I could not be happier! I want my Mach E as ship shape and ready to go as possible. I don’t want the glass roof flying off on the ride home front here dealer. I don’t want spots wear the pint is paper thin. I want them to give me my Mach E in the best possible condition they can.

Good luck with your Tesla’s and parts falling off while you drive. I’m good thanks!

Not what you're hoping to hear, but mine was scheduled 11/20, completed 12/5, and has no ship date yet. When it does come up, you guys will be the first to know.
@DaveRuns

As promised, you all are the first (besides my fiance) to know! I received the email at 1:43 am this morning, with an estimated delivery of Feb 1, give or take a couple days.

As I mentioned before the original build date was scheduled for 11/20, so that's roughly 70 days from stated build to driveway, or 55 days from completion to driveway.

That said, they've baked in 35 days for transit but it would only take 19 hours to drive from the plant to my house.
