Sorry. SAR isn't Maxar's thing. Plus SAR resolution from commercial satellites typically isn't good enough for discerning the kind of detail you would need to accurately determine inside production.
I believe Capella Space has 50cm x 50cm resolution :) I think that might be enough to count Mustang Mach Es on the line :)
tbh, I was surprised commercial SAR was even a thing, especially at that resolution ?

They are. Everywhere. Consider the case of the one manufacturer that has a vehicle in direct competition with the mach-e, Tesla. There's a reason they've asked employees about to be furloughed to volunteer with help in making deliveries. They're not putting them out front at the Fremont plant so more people can pick their cars up, nor are they handing them the keys to a big-rig with a load of cars. Some are literally driving the cars to customers a state or two (and more) away. It's not better elsewhere. There is a pandemic. Ford isn't unique and neither is our wait.

People are sick, over 250,000 new cases in the last 7 days in California alone. Almost 18,000 new cases in Nevada where I live. Every business is impacted and short-staffed. And there is a shortage of railroad cars and trucks that can haul new cars anyway.
??? Yup. Ford and everyone is trying to make best out of a terrible situation. I for one is thankful for all they are doing. I rather have the car later than for anyone to take unnecessary risk to get it to me faster. I'm pretty sure its the mass majority here. Also want to shout out to those that are providing us here with valuable information (@trutolife27, @hybrid2bev). Please accept our gratitude, I know its hard sometime when you hear us complain and yet can't fire back because of the sensitive nature of your info.

This and internet. Think about what how much less you would know without ppl like @trutolife27 and this forum.
Yep. I appreciate all the inside information from those people too. Largely because I'm not the type to grab my pitchfork but love to see the view behind the curtain. Thousands of Tesla buyers put in an order and then get a call a year later that their car is ready for pickup with zero communication between those two events. Ford puts a tracker out there and people complain it isn't good enough. @trutolife27 gives us inside info (maybe at risk to himself) and people complain it isn't good enough.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Hmmmm. 50cm SAR resolution from a microsat? I don't think that is even possible. 50m res maybe. I suspect they may be doing software overlay of their SAR image with a 50cm optical image. We do have multi-spectral, infrared, and down to 32cm optical imagery but not from small(cheap) microsats.

If the forum wants some inside imagery, I'm thinking we give someone a 4K drone, pay to fly them down to Mexico, and see if they can fly the drone into the facility when someone opens a door for their smoke break.

Just make sure there’s a Ford mask on the drone.

I have a 4k drone and am a licensed Part 107 pilot. But there's no way I'm making that trip!

Some of these issues can be mitigated if a caravan of forum members went to the plant and drove back - strength in numbers, protection and safety. Problem is Ford will not just give you the vehicle. And you cant get it across the border without proper documentation.
Ford won't let you take delivery from other than a dealer, but aside from that, the trip isn't that difficult. I've actually made that drive on multiple occasions (literally from the parking lot of CSAP)! I tend to choose Eagle Pass, which adds a little time, but it avoids the narco corridor that's at Laredo and Nuevo Laredo. You'd be driving what looks like a crappy economy car instead of a late model Expedition Max (my usual ride there) or Suburban.

These latter are the ones that attract attention, because they're what the narcos drive. Either other narcos think your one of them, or an enemy, or the police and army thank you're one. In my 2003 Continental, I was always waived through checkpoints. In a 2011 Expedition Max, it was a guaranteed stop. Police in Auguascalientes learned a whole lot about door halos one night.

I've lived nearly five years in Mexico, and have driven it back and forth from Sonara to Quinata Roo. Stick to the D (toll) roads, or major highways, and you'll be fine. Take a scenic tour through the mountains in Michoacan, and unless you've got Monarch bait, you'd better be pretty careful.

Nothing has shipped, and units are still being produced. OKTB was originally Nov 23rd and shipping to start the 24th with 26th to 30th down for holiday. Not even a month late.

The mache is coming and shipping soon. All your companies around the world are doing the best they can to get products to the consumers.
Audi dealer I drive by on my way home had a truckload of Q5s being delivered today. Those are also "hecho en Mexico"....Audi had no trouble getting them up here.

They should contract with the narco traffickers to find a way to get the cars up here...they'll be in the US within a couple days.

Sounds like we've got ourselves a leader for our excursion so we won't be on edge. Or maybe we call it an expedition to get our Mustangs. And as long as we focus we won't need to make an escape and after we get back we can have a fiesta.

LOL, how long have you been saving that one? It's hilarious. And FWIW, I'd be happy to lead, as long as I can be mounted on a bronco.

Maybe. Sometimes its give an inch take a mile I think. It doesn't matter how much info Ford communicates someone will be unhappy. Sometimes Ford does give information and people complain about the information they got; sometimes its just better to keep your trap shut.
That's their problem if they're unhappy; live with it. I think everybody needs to look at the big picture here. We're in the middle of a worldwide pandemic! Hundreds of thousands of people have died! Millions of people have been infected with the SARS virus! We're complaining about not getting our cars on time? Please!

My thoughts exactly! Read my reply on this.

COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus, is now the No. 1 cause of death in the U.S. -- killing more people on average per day than cancer or heart disease.

The virus is the cause of 1,970 deaths in the U.S. per day, according to a graph published Tuesday by Dr. Maria Danilychev, based in San Diego, Calif. In comparison, the graph shows 1,774 deaths per day are attributed to heart disease and 1,641 to cancer, according to Newsweek.

The mache is still getting built. The delay is 3 weeks. With all that is going on and the complaining, I'm shocked. Some people are lucky to get to work from home. These people are under pressure and trying hard to get the product to you. Do you think ford doesn't want to sell the products quickly as they can?
ford could have sent them out any way they can just to have them sold. Do we really want that?
Sometimes we as humans need to walk in front of the mirror and take a look at ourselves. The medical field workers are being put to the flame each day. As people, we have become so greedy and I want to throw a fit like willy Wanko chocolate factory blue girl.

It's the holidays, what happened to being thankful. My family is healthy, i have food on the table, clothes on my back, and a warm bed to sleep in. If the mache was delayed months Then yeah maybe a little upset for people. But 3 weeks really 3 weeks.
We have almost 600 cases of covid 19 at the plant I work. The chance for an auto manufacturer worker to catch covid 19 is almost at 50%. I won't even go into how many co-workers we have lost that are not with us anymore.

The mache is coming I promise enjoy time with your family. Be thankful you get to see them one more day. Right now some people are not getting that option.

I hope you all stay safe and have a wonderful holiday the best way we all can.
