Yes, I know Angie was democratically elected and I apologize if I implied anything different. Sadly, we did not learn from Germany’s experience and are now trying to do something not too dissimilar in end-effect.
Angie has decidet the nonsense to shut off the whole atomic reactors in Germany. It was just a touch of green thinking, but the social and green government after Angie has forced the nuclear phase-out without alternatives with a baseball bat. This government drove our entire country into the wall with enthusiasm. Fortunately it ends last month. A new government was elected. But now we have to earn the froots of four years mismanagement.

I would point out that the German BWRs were not located in active earthquake zones or coastal areas prone to tsunamis. My complaint with Germany is not necessarily deciding to phase out those reactors; but the panicked way in which they did it, with no consideration to how they were going to replace that capacity. Of course, as I said, we’re barreling down a path to end up at the same result, just with different motivations. I’m surprised solar hasn’t been made illegal yet because “the panels are ugly and cause bird cancer” or something ?
The improvements in reactor design since the 1960s has been phenomenal, the new designs would be unrecognizable to engineers of yesteryear. They also resolve or profoundly mitigate many of the very real issues of antiquated reactors. Hopefully an intelligent assessment and implementation can occur in areas without limiting factors that could compromise safety.

I’m more of a pretzel fan, but I get yelled at because I refuse to score the “belly” of the pretzel when I make them. Even worse - I put … YELLOW MUSTARD on my pretzels. Germans consider that an abomination on the level of smearing feces across the Mona Lisa ?

Never in to pretzels so that was an education for me. Usually do strudel and beer. Must try the mustard on pretzel, at a dc charger stop of course just to stay on topic ?. I’m sure there are a few who might enjoy it without saying.

Mustard on a soft pretzel is a Philly thing. We lived outside Philly for over a decade and one company that I worked at had to have pretzels, cookies, and soft drinks at every meeting - until the new president showed it was nearly a 6 figure expense.

Sometimes, people (usually NOT from Philly), will try to be fancy and use spicy brown mustard ?

I'm not familiar with mustard on pretzels, but I'll give it a try. Your negative opinion probably comes from one German man, not all Germans. Btw, you can find pretzels in Bavaria only, its just a small part of Germany. The whole of the United States aren't steers and cowboys .

Actually, it comes from a German WOMAN, who’s father was a master baker in a small village near Freiburg (the one in southern Germany, near the French and Swiss borders). She and her husband were the ones who taught me to make pretzels and she’s always annoyed that I don’t score the belly on my pretzels and that I deliberately have the ends overhang slightly (I like doing that so I can bite off the ends).

please do give it a go and let me know what you think? I will confess that I haven’t tried butter on pretzels, which I’m told is traditional.

I haven’t had easy access to my home charger for the past few days, so I took my car to the EVgo charger nearby. 47.886 KWh cost $30.94. I know electricity is stupidly expensive in the Philadelphia area, but this seems a bit … excessive? Does this sound reasonable? Note that I am not a “member” of any charging network because I rarely DCFC.
I’ve seen it in LA highest I’ve seen in Seattle is 56. Personally I use EA and play the $7 membership and it pays its self in a charge or two

Public charging is not cheap. You have to really pay attention to prices as they can vary widely from one location to another and even by time of the day.

The cheapest is of course charging at home. Otherwise with the price of public fast charging you’re pretty much paying the same as gas.
I like plug share

And don't forget the added detergents that clean your battery as you drive!
We encourage you to use premium electricity as it will solve any knocks or pings you may experience.
