I don’t know if it’s formally called ‘deep sleep’, but I believe when your Mach-E has fallen into a ‘deep sleep’, you get this message on the center display when you turn the vehicle on.

I think the problem here is the definition of "deep sleep". If we take Ford's usage of this word from their ICE line of vehicles it's when the electrical system, including the modem shut down to conserve the battery. This can happen due to an extended period that the vehicle isn't used (2 weeks), very low battery levels or extreme temperatures.

I don't think the OP or 99% of these posts are talking about "deep sleep". I personally think that what's being discussed, as 2 other people already confirmed that they assumed, is the FP app saying the car is asleep and the last data is from xx hours ago when it last reported. That's not a deep sleep IMO. The MME reports back to the mothership every so often, but when the car is inactive it has no reason to so it goes into sleep. I use "sleep" without "deep" because that's what it says in FP.

Furthermore, what you are linking is a power down of the Screen. The car has a timer in accessory mode where the system will shut down after that time to prevent excessive drain. If the LVB were to get low during the IPC or Screen being active it would engage the DC/DC top off of the LVB.

The term "deep sleep" was actually used by many back in early 2021 to describe the event where their LVB battery wouldn't charge up. In this case deep sleep meant bricked... That was fixed with this.

I realize that it shows up for some in FP. I have never seen it myself and I searched the forums and can't find a picture of it. People use the phrase for the sleep that occurs at 1 hour all the time on this forum, so again, it's just a misuse of the phrase based on what Ford claims deep sleep should be.

If anyone has any confirmation as to what "deep sleep" is (in terms of the MME) vs the FP notification that the car hasn't checked in in xx hours because it's asleep please link it. I can't find such a description.

What do you think deep sleep is? Are you talking about FordPass saying "Updated XX hours ago"? Or the message that says "You're seeing the last details your vehicle told us before it went to sleep"?

I have a feeling some people may think the regular sleep is deep sleep.

I see the term regularly in FordPass if I try to interact with the car through FordPass if the car has sat unused for more than a day or two. It’s been that way since new.

My wife talked me out of taking my MME to the beach last week, so it has been sitting at home in my garage of almost six days now. It is not plugged in because I was worried about what could happen if a thunderstorm came through (which one did, BTW) and we got a power surge from a lightening strike.

Anyway, my car has been unplugged and sitting for six days and I do not see any message in FP about sleeping. The information has not been updated for five days, but if I send an unlock command, I will probably get an update.

I have never seen that deep sleep message you have.

I have never seen that deep sleep message you have.

That's the problem when that message is displayed I can't communicate with the car I have to go and sit in it and press the start button it will then be ok for about an hour or so and then go back into deep sleep apart from that the car is great

Do you have Phone as a key set up?

I’ve definitely seen Deep Sleep, but not this message worded like that. Mine is something similar like your car is in deep sleep, remote functions have been disabled to save battery. Are you in the US?

I left my car for 10 days and never saw anything like this. Very strange how some of us have it and others don't.

This is one that I would agree that the dealer would have to work out. I'm curious if they looked at the versions of the communications modules to see if there's any updates available. I assume they would, but I can only imagine it's a software issue. Not sure how hardware would cause this.

Could you provide more information on your car. Model year, trim etc? Maybe even DM me your VIN so I can take a look.

After doing a bit more research into this it looks like there's an SSM 50751 issued for UK customers who experience this. As I suspected it was a TCU (Telematics Control Unit) software bug. The OP however has a fully updated TCU, so I'm not sure why he is still having the issue. The dealer did attempt a number of times to re-program the TCU and it would appear that, although the programming was successful, the result has been unsuccessful. I would assume they might be replacing the TCU in the end.

Pretty sure I have never seen that mostly because I think the ‘Sshh’ would be memorable to me. I have often gone 24-48+ hours without driving my Mach-E.
