Visually telling the difference between Select and Premium models?

This is strictly a curiosity of mine... Can you differentiate between a Select and Premium MME from the general appearance of the vehicle?

Sorry if this was posted previously but I couldn't find a related thread.

The most obvious difference is the wheels.

Across years the wheels have changed.

I look at trim over the wheels. At least on older selects it was a flat black trim, and premium were piano black. Personally I think the flat black looks better, but it depends on color of car also.

Like Erik said above. ALL years of the Select have matte black wheel arch trim. '21-'24 Premiums have gloss black and '25-'26 have body color trim.

You can tell by the front turn signals. The Premium has sequential front LED turn signals (moving amber lights) and LED signature lighting, whereas the Select has standard LED turn signals without the animation.

That only applies to '21-'23 models. From '24 and up, the headlights on all models are the same.

2021 First Editions have body color wheel arch trim and mirror caps but colors were limited to Rapid Red, Carbonized Gray, and Grabber Blue.

Exactly. That’s why the wheels and headlights are not a good way to tell. The wheel arch trim is the best way since Selects never came with gloss black or body colored trim.

Are the 'moustaches' still different? Selects had the 'ridged' 'stache, and the Premiums were flat. But I think now you can get the GT front on Premiums, so it's harder to distinguish trim from the front alone anymore.

Yes the "mustaches" are different but you have to be in the front of the car to see that and like you said the Premiums can have a gloss black smooth mustache or a complete black GT front grille. The Selects always have a matte black ridged mustache.

Correct. Just like if you see gloss black or painted wheel arch trim it is not a Select.

The thing is here, there are so many variables with the Premium. Wheels, front bumper, grille, wheel arch trims, glass roof, etc. Really none of them makes any difference. All you need to look at are the wheel arch trims which is the one constant on every Select. They can be easily viewed from either side of the car. If they are matte black, it is a Select. If there aren't it's another model. Done.
