I do like that towing capacity!
I have a Cervelo P3 triathlon bike. Fully loaded it weighs about 19 pounds. My road bike weighs about 15 pounds fully loaded and soaking wet. Why would anyone need 2700 lbs of towing capacity? :p

Seriously, that is my sole requirement for a trailer hitch. 2 bikes sometimes more (once a year during the Ironman World Championship). A roof rack will work too. But 2700 lbs would be good for those with a desire to actually use it.

It's almost like the MME was made for me. ;)

Not seeing anything worth waiting or switching for, so still planning on the Mach E... that said, without a test drive it's a bit too soon to rule out this or some of the other options. Right now the three biggest concerns on the mach e are price, and the unknown of driver comfort including entering and leaving the vehicle and sitting in it (mainly worried it's too low), and also visibility for the driver, especially in the rear.
All valid concerns. It's really amazing to me just how deeply SARS-COV-2 has affected our society. In what passed for a normal year pre pandemic, few of us would be wondering about seat comfort, ingress and egress etc. We'd have all test drove the cars by now. Stupid Pandemic -- go away!

I wish I could tell you guys something about the towing, roof rails, racks. It has been brought up so many times in meetings. All we get is yes the match e will have and working with after market companies on many different options. Sorry :(

Also when I look at the steering wheel column situp, with the screen. Reminds me of some cheap Syfi movie. the whole dash does. Kinda like starship trooper.

Everyone into your ID4 it's bug squashing time. Aye Aye Rico SIr.

The ID4 is going to be a durable, mass market, decently spec'd EV. $100 deposit is fully refundable so there's no risk. Might as well.

Personally, I am not very keen on the ID4 but it's a $20k difference from my GT reservation and includes 3 years of charging. The $399/mo lease price is pretty cool, especially if I just want to bridge myself to second gen MME. That said, the MME is beautiful and will be sporty. I just hope that when Dave Pericak says the MME drives like a Mustang he doesn't mean that it ends up on a crowded sidewalk (YouTube is filled with Mustang compilations).

The only car left that really could tempt me away is Hyundai/Kia. We'll see what they got.

399 lease is what is going to grab the eyes of people who can't afford to buy, but want to drive one.
I think its 399.99 for 3 years for 10,000 miles a year.

Understood. However, even if we install aftermarket hitches, we still don't know what the tow rating will be. That's a Ford call.

I really don't see that trade. An ID.4 is NOT a GT.

Just never get coffee while driving it and you will be fine.

I'm with you Bill.

However, if there were no Mustang Mach E I might be seriously considering the ID.4.
I'm not sure what I'd do really in those circumstances. I rather dislike the interior shown at the unveiling. Probably wait until something MME-ish came along.

That lease price is something. It may be the first truly mass market longish range EV...

If so, I do give them credit for that. And a lease means long term quality isn't your problem. ?

Yes, we have to take hats off to tesla. Without Tesla stepping up the game who knows where the ev market would be. Now VW put it out there with a low-end EV for more people to afford.
We need the competition to help fire up the EV world and lower prices. Competition in anything is good.
Just, how long for a 350 to 400 mile true range EV under 40,000?
