I guess it must depend on what kind of adhesive they used.
I could tell you that, but then I'd have to kill you...

They used special Ford DND adhesive. If you read the label, it was guaranteed "Do Not Detach" if applied correctly. ?

After 14 days, I finally got mine back and they did a really good job. As I stated previously, they removed the pano roof due to the glass company not liking the original install. They put it back together beautifully and now the gap between windshield and roof is probably 1/4" or less and absolutely quiet while driving. They also cleaned the car inside and out with only causing smudges on main info screen and driver info screen. Cleaned them up with eyeglass cleaner rags. Overall, it stunk not having the car for 2 weeks but glad they took the time necessary to do it right. As a side note, man was it awesome to be driving this car again.

My car was immaculate, except for 2 fingerprints that you could only see by sticking your head into the windshield area and looking at the headliner. I pulled around to the Body Shop and they immediately cleaned them off.

I was surprised that I see no suction cup marks on the windshield, nor was it cleaned. Usually a glass guy will clean the windshield inside and out when you get a new one. No big deal though.

I have no concerns that mine was not done completely.

It shouldn't smell because it's supposed to sit with the windows open while it cures.
Ok that makes me feel better, thanks.

Just stumbled across the thread over
Of Reddit. Someone was freaking out about error warnings that showed up on FordPass while their car was in. Did you get any errors while your car was in the shop.

Usually there will be a 12V battery warning because the doors are open for so long. A pre-collision warning because they disconnect the camera behind the rear-view mirror. And a restraint lamp warning because the rear seat (or some wiring back there) has gets disconnected when they pull all the trim.

No errors from mine. I turned on SecuriAlert just before dropping it off... So I had 45 door/hood alerts, but nothing about the battery etc.

Interestingly, never got an alert that the trunk was opened. So either they never opened it, or SecuriAlert doesn't alert on that.

Mine took almost two weeks the first time around. After they did it my pano roof was making creaking noises when it's cold so I brought it back and they had it for another week. No idea what they actually did during the second visit (they couldn't tell me... but I saw a lot of activity via FP), but it's still creaking when cold.

Don't know what to do about it at this point. This dealer sucks hard and all my other nearby dealers aren't able to do the recall work. I doubt another dealer will want to take it either since they didn't do the initial work.

At that point, just take it to another dealer under warranty work. Don’t even mention you just had the recall work done. Just take it to a more trusting dealer, if you can find one, and say you have this gnarly creaking when cold.

The dealers can see all work done in their system...

And? Most don’t dive into cars vehicle history and if the previous dealer is saying they did the recall work fine and they can’t find a problem, then you go to another. They can still bill Ford for the work, that’s literally all that matters.
