Who has the spare time to prepare (and keep updated) a Dummies Guide to the Mach-E?
Sections:
1. Accepting delivery - what to check at dealer before driving away?
2. Setup - what are setup guielines on first day of ownership?
3. What are current TSB's, etc?
4. Interesting tweaks to user interface
5. Charging - at home and on the road
6. Current after-market offerings
7. Paint protection

Can you think of anything else?
Something like this would be valuable for new owners instead of having to read through thousands of posts to try to glean information, suggestions.

Some of those topics are already covered by sticky threads in several of the appropriate subforums, but I do see your point about a central "welcome" wiki thread. The problem with a few of those are that they are opinion based, and would naturally degenerate into a long winded set of replies that would trash up the thread. Maybe just have a locked thread with links to other threads, but I'm not sure that would be an improvement

I am vehemently opposed to this idea. o_O

1) I have zero empathy for people who buy vehicles and are too lazy to read the manual (which Ford provides via searchable PDF from their website). Zero. Not a Mach-E thing, it's on every forum. Fat, lazy, and some are even less than intelligent. ? We actually started reading the manual before delivery. ?

2) Why should a new owner of a $70,000 vehicle not have to read through thousands of posts and experience SOME of the pain that we have in developing those threads? ?

There is nothing unique about the Mach-E's paint vs. any other vehicle.

As @timbop stated, there are subforums for some of these topics, and they have stickied posts.

There's also this post with links to official guidance on setup, TSBs, etc

That's entirely unnecessary.

There's a ton of useful information not found in the manual that can be found here buried among the overwhelming tide of complaints and off-topic opinions. Finding it requires some knowledge of the key jargon in the first place

I didn't see a sarcasm font...

But seriously, forums are for people to learn by engaging, not to come, read a page of info, and leave. Utilization of a forum is a give and take process. If a person can't navigate a forum to read stickies and learn, then operating the Mach-E (at least in 2021) with updates, messages, etc. is totally beyond their capabilities.

That wasn't sarcasm....

The beauty of a forum or any other open enterprise is to choose how much or how little one engages with it. If you don't agree with the idea and don't want to participate in the effort to make information easier to find, that's perfectly fine - it's your choice. However, respect other people's choices as well - there's no need to be insulting. It is not your place to decide for everyone else how this forum is to be used.

Not everyone has the time or inclination to spend hours a day on a car forum; that doesn't make them less intelligent or incapable of owning a Mach-E. The beauty of the car is that it is so similar to an ICE car once you get over the hurdle of learning a few BEV quirks, some of which are unnecessarily complicated. The point of the OP is to gather those quirks together so they're easy to find. I don't see where that's a bad thing, nor is it necessary to throw insults.

Rick,

Much as I love to look at all the posts, sometimes I just don't have the time.
I'm a Realtor in Las Vegas, and working 8 days/week and 30 hours a day (or it seems like it).

I don't think it is a bad thing to provide for new owners a "cheat sheet" of what is important when first picking up their Mach-E. After they take the Mach-E home, complete setup, etc., then they can start following the forum. But, the first day is pretty hectic and don't want to miss anything that is important to do right away.

Also, the owner's manual is searchable from the center screen. While it may not always have the info you wish it had, it is good at informing the user "how" to do things built into the car's settings and functions.

One suggestion I would make is a new owner find some time and just go through all the possible settings in the car. An owner can learn a lot this way, not only how to do stuff, but learn about features they didn't know existed, features they didn’t know it was possible to customize, etc.

I think this is a good idea with any new piece of tech, like a smartphone, smart thermostat, really anything.

First thing I did after ordering my MME was to download the manual! and I'm pretty sure I've gone through it several times now. I am currently waiting for @Ford to to put up the 2022 manual online.

Many people will complain that they don't have the time to "find the answer" they need, and will just resort to starting a new thread on a topic already covered several times in the past.
