I have a 2021 Job 1 Premium. My 3-year Navigation subscription ended in July. I renewed it so it didn't lapse. Since the renewal the last few times I added an address in the navigation and started to drive the radio volume went down to about a level 4 and will not go above it even as you turn the volume knob up.

It's barely loud enough to hear with the road noise. I have restarted the Ford screen while driving and that helped for a few mins then it would drop in volume again. Both the turning knob and the steering wheel volume have to effect on the volume. They show the volume going up graphic but doesn't affect the sound volume.

Any other 2021 Job 1 cars renew their navigation and have this issue? Not sure they are related to each other but since the renewal is when it started.

I haven't had the exact issue you're describing. But recently I experienced something perhaps similar.

Shortly after starting the car in the morning, the nav screen popped up Work as my predicted location. This is from the Garmin myTrends™ feature in Ford's nav (that I wish we could turn OFF but sadly Ford removed that preference toggle).

My podcast playback via Android Auto was barely audible. Probably about a level 4 as you described.

I couldn't figure out why at first, but then about 30-60 seconds after I'd already dismissed the unwanted Work nav suggestion, I heard the "ding ding" chime that was supposed to play when the myTrends suggestion originally displayed. After that ding-ding, then my preferred music/AA/Bluetooth volume unducked back to where I wanted it.

So it's possible nav is ducking your audio due to some sort of bug with nav and/or SYNC? I'm really surprised that restarting SYNC didn't fix it.

As an experiment, you might try clearing the myTrends history. I forget the exact menuing to do that but you go into Nav, tap the wrench icon at the bottom left corner, go into Settings, and somewhere in there is an option to clear history. This might help if the problem you're experiencing is related to those pop ups.

Even if you're not seeing the pop up, it could still be happening. Ford absurdly "shows" it even when the Nav app isn't the front-most app and auto-dismisses it within 10 seconds or so.

You might also want to try disabling warning chimes relating to school zone speed limits, railroad crossings, etc. Those are somewhere in the Nav settings, too.

I did end up clearing My trends and still have the audio issue and now I lost the turn-by-turn audio instructions. Again, I did a reset of the screen and still lost the audio turn by turn. Strange all happened when I renewed the subscription it seems.

I renewed mine in February and did not experience any related issues.

I refused to pay a subscription fee, because that should be an automatic download. I'll just to continue using Apple or Waze GPS.
I normally use Audible books when driving and with the GPS on.
The sound comes through clearly interdispersed with directions.
Works well.
I have never listened to any radio, so I can't comment how it would work.

For the turn by turn audio, have you tried the little speaker symbol on the left of the nav screen?

I experienced this volume anomaly myself on a recent trip. My wife Googled it, since I was driving and found several instances of it with various solutions. When I tried to turn up the radio volume I noticed that above the dial it displayed the words Prompt Volume which clued me into what was going wrong. Someone it was stuck raising the volume of the navigation prompt instead of the audio volume. In my case a reset of Sync fixed it and then when I adjusted it, it showed audio volume as it should. When the navigation voice (prompt) was speaking and I adjusted the volume it showed prompt volume above the dial. It has worked normally since.
