** Solved, but not really solved, see below **

I can successfully open the door with the keypad but I can no longer trigger the password to start the car. I press the start button over and over many times and all I get is message on the IP that no key is found. The infotainment screen never displays the password entry screen.

This has been going on for months.

*******
Ok, it turns out that my password of 3.5 years is gone. Poof. So, I try to reprogram it, sitting in the car with my PAAK and the FOB and I get the following screen. Tried it a half dozen times by turning the car off, walking away, and trying it again. No luck.

Perform a SYNC reset with the buttons on the steering wheel. And if that doesn’t work, hold the brake pedal and/or pump it several times.

Are you using the factory set door code? And do you use Phone as a key?
I ask because if the car reset itself, maybe there is no longer a password set, so it is t asking.
if you are using a custom door code, or if your Phone-as-a-key is still working, then the whole thing probably didn’t get reset/lost.

Usually I get an email when my start passcodes are removed. (Has happened a couple time but usually because I triggered it via a new phone and/or updating the door code.)

If all else fails, stand outside the car, with the window open, and scream at it. Then, use your phone to call Uber / Lyft, because apparently that's not a real inconvenience for some as compared to the unsightly bulge in my pocket caused by the fob, not that's not something else, get your mind out of the gutter.

"But PaaK works all the time".... o_O  ;) ? :p
This has absolutely nothing to do with PAAK.

I'm diligent in testing the backup plan in case there's a battery failure on my entry hardware. I do happen to use PAAK and it has never failed in 3.5 years use but I'm not foolish enough to think that the phone won't fail some day. Same with the FOB. The battery is also the achilles heel of the FOB, so you'd better be testing your backup plan because that FOB will eventually fail. Or you could lose it. Any number of scenarios. If you can't get in and start your car with whatever device you have, you'll be in for a tow to the dealer.

I'm using my custom door code. I'm also using PAAK. But I was just testing my alternate plan should my PAAK, or FOB, wouldn't let me in.

Is it still happening? Did the sync reboot fix it?

Take the dead fob, and insert it in the slot that exists for when the fob battery is dead....

Password is only needed when you don't have a fob...

What? Why did you assume that this is PAAK related? I was testing my backup. You test your backup regularly also, don't you? Or do presume that the FOB will never fail or that you're incapable of losing the FOB?

Backup pass code can only be created if you setup PaaK.

What happened to the post where you said there was no backup slot?

Again, the presumption is that you'll always have the FOB. I'm a human an prone to losing things just like the next guy. Maybe you're perfect but I'm not.
