What is this strange sound on startup mean

yeah it's not playing back super well, sounds almost like a door/seatbelt/parking brake warning. Are you putting it in drive slightly before everything is settled?

That's the critical error sound. Read what it says on the cluster when that happens.

They are replacing a door module Friday but this sound has been going off well before I was getting the door fault message on cluster. Also it's not every time.

Could be the audio codec used when the video was recorded is not supported by Apple. You could download the video and see if it plays locally.

I've heard this before. I think recently?? Instrument cluster said I needed to shift to Park, if I recall correctly. The gear dial was showing Reverse, right when I started the vehicle.

I'm surprised you're not seeing a message on the cluster to go along with the alarm sounds.

BTW, this one I had to listen to in Edge. Firefox says "No video with supported format and MIME type found." Your OP I was able to play just fine in Firefox. Could be that the forum encodes it as video even when it's just audio and FF doesn't like that.
