Brand new RWD Premium here, stock tires. It came from the dealer with the front tires having 43 psi, and 39/40 psi in the rear tires.

Recommended PSI is 39 for all four tires I think. Is there some reason the dealer inflated the front tires more? Should I release some air to get them down to 39, for a slightly more comfortable ride perhaps? Range is not usually an issue for me, and I don't typically drive in unusually hot weather or snow.

What are you all doing?

Our RWD Select came from the dealer with 41 psi on all four tires. We tend to start out at 39 psi and the tire pressure increases to 41 psi after driving.

I run at 40psi. That’s measured in my garage after sitting Cora few hours so they are at ambient temperature.

39/39 COLD pressure. Tires a usually over inflated for shipping to help with bounce on the train/truck. Dealer should have checked the tires better in pre-delivery.
This ^^^ Dealer didn't do their checklist pre-delivery.

I bought a Lightning in May. Activated on FordPass the night prior, showed 36 pounds all around. Told salesperson. Go to buy it, still shows 36 pounds. Sales manager filled the tires himself to the specified 42 pounds and said "pisses me off when they don't check the door tag like I told them to".

41-42 psi year round front & back. Current tire mileage is 47,253. Long term average Mi/KWh is 3.5. Last 1800 miles is 4.1Mi/KWh (nice weather).

Set pressure @ 39 PSIG from me after service. They tend to over inflate twice the times I've taken it to my service center.

I like it settles at low 39-38.

Roads here where I'm at are good more than bad.

You can never trust dealer/tire shop tire gauges unless they are digital.
I only use my own digital gauge. It matches the tire pressure display on the dash screen well. I inflate them all to 39.

When I first took delivery, I was shocked at how harsh the ride is. Not sports car or street rod firm (I've owned both) -it was just a hard ride. After taking the tire pressure down to the recommended 39 (when cold) I was surprised how the ride improved.

Try it. you might like it

I'm at 37 all around and honestly, it makes a world of difference in the ride quality. Mine was at 41 from the dealership and it felt like a jackhammer. I was about to get new shocks when someone recommended dropping the pressure a little more than even what Ford recommends. So far, after over 5K miles on that setup, I find the thing is much much better and nearly all my complains about a bouncy ride are gone.

Feels more comfortable than the recommended 39.

If you really want to get into the whole 'tire pressure changing with ambient temps' (and "if you're not into the whole brevity thing")...check out pages 9-10 of the attached.

After installing the Koni rear shocks to address the bounce issue in the rear, I have found that setting the cold pressure at 40 front and rear to be the setting that provides the best overall ride. When I had the front set at 35, I found the bounce in the front to be more prominent. It's still there at 40, but less noticeable. We live in 30 min outside of New York City where the roads roads are not the best! Hoping that there is more of a permanent fix for the front in terms of addressing the suspension.
