I worked at a Ford dealership for over 20 years. This is how warranty works. The dealership has 30 days from the date of repair to claim the warranty work and get it paid. Ford also requires they close the repair order (RO) when you pick up the vehicle. If there is an ongoing issue, they are supposed to put all the pertinent information on the RO and close it when you pick up the vehicle. Every time you bring it in for the same issue they need to do this. The number of ROs for the same complaint adds weight better than leaving it open. Once the claim is submitted and paid the recall is cleared. If they go past the 30 days and the claim is denied for age the recall will not be cleared until you have it done again and it gets paid.Do you know how the recall is cleared? I just got my car back, but the dealership is leaving my work order "open" since they need engineering to get with them about non-recall stuff. Would mine still clear since I assume they'll still submit that recall for payment?
