Do you know how the recall is cleared? I just got my car back, but the dealership is leaving my work order "open" since they need engineering to get with them about non-recall stuff. Would mine still clear since I assume they'll still submit that recall for payment?
I worked at a Ford dealership for over 20 years. This is how warranty works. The dealership has 30 days from the date of repair to claim the warranty work and get it paid. Ford also requires they close the repair order (RO) when you pick up the vehicle. If there is an ongoing issue, they are supposed to put all the pertinent information on the RO and close it when you pick up the vehicle. Every time you bring it in for the same issue they need to do this. The number of ROs for the same complaint adds weight better than leaving it open. Once the claim is submitted and paid the recall is cleared. If they go past the 30 days and the claim is denied for age the recall will not be cleared until you have it done again and it gets paid.

I dropped it off Monday morning and it was done Wednesday afternoon. They got me a rental car from Hertz. There are dozens of cars available across several rental companies around here. Your dealer is telling you that rental companies have zero near you? It might be wise to try a different dealer, as it seems that they don’t want to do the work.
Well I am aware that Ford pays a very minimal amount per day for the rental and the dealership may be paying the difference. This is the only dealership in town that has actually taken seriously my many electrical issues with my vehicle and actually made progress getting them corrected. The others have stated “unable to duplicate” and returned the vehicle to me. The other dealership never called me back (2 messages left with advisor and manager) the day the 12 volt battery died and I had to jump the vehicle to start it. This is the only Mach E they’ve had to work on so we are learning together.

I would think that Ford or the dealership would have agreements in place with car rental companies to accept the amount that Ford will pay. Hertz gave me a Hyundai Venu for the $32/day that Ford paid. It was no Mach-E but it got me home and back to the dealer.

How long was your vehicle in the shop for the recalls?? My dealer is telling me it might take 2 - 3 weeks. He is also telling me that Ford will pay for a rental vehicle but finding one is difficult to impossible.
Mine will be 3 weeks on Tuesday. They broke the windshield as they removed it. Its till not back yet.

Ouch!! Are they having to order it from Ford?
Yes they had a new one replaced in like 5 days. But to do this recall they have to remove windshield many break. The longer aspect is removing the headliner for the glass roof. Plus they outsource the work to a glass company so have to wait for them to come in and do the work. Just time consumming when they break the glass adds at least another week.

Looking at other people's VINs that did the recall, the dealer puts into FDRS: PTS: FSA: and the recall number. My car doesn't have this. Does this mean my recall will not clear or does it not matter and is just tied to when it is submitted to Ford?
