What is percentage of Tesla charge towers that will be available to non Tesla charging ?
20% ?

I don't think Tesla would allow access too all 100% of their chargers for non Tesla - can you imagine seeing EVs that block 2 spots ?

With how busy most Tesla chargers are without non Teslas; I can see a revolt from Tesla owners, fist fights, cars damaging each other struggling to fit into a charge stall, etc....
If Tesla has no restrictions on available V3 or V4 stations, then 2/3 of all Superchargers should be available to us.

Per Supercharge.info in the USA, there are 1392 Supercharger V3+ stations out of 2114 stations overall (V2 and Urban).

I don't think the Superchargers I use on my trips from Florida to Ohio have a long enough cable to connect to a Mach-e, unless it is parked parallel to the chargers. There was one that was just barely long enough for my Tesla. A Mach-e parked parallel would take up 3 to 4 charging spots. An adapter with 4 or 5 foot extension cable is needed. Perhaps that is what is taking Ford so long to get one out. It is unfortunate that the charge port location on EVs was not standardized years ago.
You won't take up 3. At most you'll take 2. When you pull straight into the parking spot, you're obviously going to take the charger you're using, but bc you'll need to park one spot over from the charger you're using, you'll end up taking the spot that another Tesla would use. I went by a Supercharger yesterday to test this theory and that's exactly what I had to do.

Ford made it clear they were referring to V3 Superchargers in the message they sent to us Ford EV owners:
1703699931271.png

They later said it will be 15,000.
February is not “Spring”. “Spring” is essentially Q2. I wouldn’t expect to see a CCS-to-NACS Tesla-approved adaptor until late July, at the earliest. (Elon is much worse at hitting milestones than anyone else I’ve ever seen. Given interplanetary orbital dynamics, I seriously doubt he’d ever hit a Mars transfer orbit window ?)

They need to extend the Tesla charger cord or provide an adapter with a cord. I have a Tesla Destination charger adapter, but I also carry a J1772 extension cord (I got it many years ago).
I frequently park in a garage with 20 Tesla chargers and 10 J1772. Most Tesla owners have a J1772 adapter and can use any of the 30 plugs, but I now can do the same.

Will Ford place the NACS plug on the right rear side, like Tesla?

?Trust me...I'm not getting my hopes up for Feb/Mar/Apr/May/Jun. I was just pointing out that Ford clearly stated we'd gain access to V3 Superchargers. It's odd that the press release didn't mention V3 but the message to us in the FordPass app was really clear about it being V3.

I can't imagine why they would switch now. I just wish the chargers were setup like gas pumps so you could park on either side. Seems like this problem was already solved in the petroleum era.

The Supercharger system was never intended to be open to vehicles other than Tesla. There was no reason to have any other setup than for a left rear plug in.

Correct. But they decided to open it and I think that Tesla should try to do something to improve the V3 usability for non-Tesla vehicles. Maybe Tesla could find a way to retrofit the V3 charges with a longer hose.

In Europe, superchargers have been available to non Tesla car for a while. The V4 superchargers cord is over 9 ft.

When will these elusive adapters be ready from Ford or Tesla. Yes, I'm aware of a 3rd party one already available. I would prefer one made by TESLA since it is their proprietary software/hardware. February is now less than 5 weeks away o_O!!! As we have all seen the video this week of a local gov't commission speaking the the Tesla Employee stating Ford and GM will be "on-line" come February 2024. Well, we need adapters for this!!!! And Cat Guy from Hawaii, I'm already ready for your "Soon Tm" response. ???

It will come, in the meantime the GTPE is garaged and for trips we our 2023 Model Y AWD long range. Like I said before Superchargers are everywhere. 15 minutes up to 150 miles added. Looking forward in getting the adaptor so trips will be less painful in chargers that actually working.

You don’t have to park parallel, just park in the next parking space over.

I'm not expecting an adapter until the 2025 MME gets NACS
