I use sync for navigation and controlling vehicle features, and Siri to place phone calls and send/receive texts

I’ll point out that Apple expressly states that they don’t monetize any of your information or usage data. Neither Google or Alexa make a similar statement. I also find it creepy that Amazon turns over my data to LEO without notifying me. I do use Amazon products, but as little as possible.
The comment was about "spying" not monetizing. But Google does allow you to opt out of ad personalization which prevents the use of voice data for ads. Google prohibits the sale of voice recordings to third parties as well. The difference in privacy between Google and Apple VAs is similar with the biggest difference in ads because Apple doesn't have the largest ad platform in the world. Amazon's use of data for "sidewalk" and it's ring products is definitely concerning.

Either way, I never say anything that I would be worried about them hearing, so listen away Google.

Understood. It’s also a philosophical thing. I don’t have anything illegal in my car, but I would never give voluntary consent for some random LEO to search it, just because I “know” there’s nothing in my car to find. ?

I wish it would do the more difficult accessible things.

1) OK Ford, open frunk
2) OK Ford, open trunk (or hatch)
3) OK Ford, find a closer charger on the route
4) OK Ford, switch drive mode to whisper/engage/unbridled
5) OK Ford, turbo boost
6) OK Ford, super pursuit mode

1+2) would be awesome also from outside the car. As the car "knows" you are there and they took away the hands-free lift gate, at least that would be a cool replacement. Standing there with a case of beer under the arm and 5 shopping bags just saying "OK Ford, open the hatch".
3) I struggled with on a road trip where my range was rapidly decreasing thanks to my driving style. Finding a charger is very distracting and I found the best way so far is to cancel the route and restart it. But that isn't a great solution.
4) Just ... why not
and for 5+6) I would change also to "OK KITT"
