The 12v battery is ca category in thus car where you don’t want to play the “Who can go the longest” game. Just get it replaced on a reasonable schedule.

My car is just over 5 years old with original 12v battery, I keep an eye on it, sometimes use Level 1 charge from 40 to 85% in my garage when needed during cold weather just to help maintain it because I don't drive my car very much. Less than 600 miles a month.

I replaced the battery today. About 50k miles. Just out of fear.
Quite an experience to live in fear, isn't it?

5 years in December. I'm retired so not too concerned. If Fords notification warning works, I'll assume there is time to replace it. If not, ces't la vie.

Car built December 2020, so it's 5 years old. Got the 12v warning in the app last weekend. Ordered replacement from Rockauto. Going to try to replace it this weekend if weather allows.
Car scanner is showing the 12v at 11.9-12.1v when car is off.

Yeah, I’m retired too and don’t tend to worry about very much anymore😁

Replaced the battery yesterday, tested the old battery and it shows as having 77% state of health remaining. So even after 5 years old, it looks like it's good for some more time. Also the 12v warning in the app cleared itself after a few days, before we replaced the battery.
Odd thing I noticed is the original battery said 24 months warranty on it, while the new one said 36 month. Both are genuine ford batteries, and have the same part #. Maybe they've improved the batteries over the years.

My Premium has a November 2020 built date and I replaced the original 12V battery last month. 5 years is good enough.

My 12-volt battery is exactly 3 yrs old-- got my 2022 Premium just after Thanksgiving that year. My car has a little over 25K miles on it. Just yesterday I got a notification on the Ford app of a "battery health" issue and today I received a phone call from a live person at Ford! She explained the battery issue & advised that I may not be able to start the car thr next time or very soon. Then she scheduled my service call wirh my dealer for me. Fortunately I had decided to take our other car on the 10-day trip we are now on-- so my MachE will sit quietly in my driveway until we return in January. I have to say I'm quite amazed & pleased at this level of customer service from Ford!

Made it 40 months and 45K miles at the time it was swapped. Decided to have it swapped out during the HVB recall work. Since they already had it disassembled they only wanted $50 for the work and cost for the battery, so it was hard to pass up, but the battery was still reading within normal voltage before I had it swapped.

Don’t recall ever having to replace a 12V battery even on ICE vehicles except the one I replaced in c1986 which was over 14 years old so don’t really get excited about potential failures of this sort.
