Wait too long to take delivery and the Federal and state incentives will disappear, as they have with Teslas. It's only a matter of time (and sales)...!

I dunno. I waited for my reservation to be allowed to be turn into an order. Then I waited for my order to come in. ??

I have the jones to build an engine, but I need to wait until I have funds to do so. Unfortunately, the first few months of this year left me in a hole and without a dog. Engine needs to wait. Gotta get on a waiting list for a dog after I research breeders. ☹?
So sorry about your pup

I think the silver lining relating to the tax credit is that they can't hit 200K deliveries if they don't deliver any cars. I'm guessing most of us who ordered are going to be fine,

I bought my Tesla in 2018 just after they hit 200K. Tesla made a mad dash and delivered a crap-ton (industry term) before the first credit reduction.

As weird as it seems, maybe Ford ends up in a position where it's able to deliver a ton of vehicles by the quarter following 200K, or pushing out the quarter in which they hit it. With all the cars on chip hold, they could have a massive supply ready to deliver in a single quarter once the chips start delivering.

I am driving a 2019 Alfa Stelvio that I purchased at the end of my lease for a great price. I'm in no hurry for a replacement vehicle. What are the reasons you cannot wait for your car? Do you need a vehicle ASAP or some other reason?
My 8 year old BMW daily driver just broke down - fuel pump, ECU, coil packs and injectors.

My MME order will need to go to immediate need.

Hating the $20K over MSRP quotes near me.

Yikes. Where do you live. From I read in the WSJ the ADM is going down due to reduced consumer demand across the board. I'm not sure if that includes ice or EVs vehicles. Demand is dropping for all retail.

Dunno. I waited for 15 months. So have others. And current orders are pushing a year.

Some folks have other needs though. Like expiring leases or cars that need replacing sooner.

If you ask a question and want real answers you don’t have to be an a** when someone gives an answer. I realize your reality is all that matters to you and you obviously don’t see that someone elseā€˜s reality could be different. This is the first new car I’ve ever bought. It’s also double the cost of ALL my previous cars combined. I was excited and still am. I waited 4 months without a production date before I bought one off a lot so your assumption of ASAP is a little off.

My 9 year old car with close to 120k miles may not develop major issues in the next 4-12 months, but I would need 2-3 oil changes, spark plugs, brake fluid, engine coolant, fuel filter and engine air filter. But you obviously know way more about MY life and car than I do.

If interest rates go up 1% in the next 6-9 months it’s the same amount per month as the ADM. I’m sure you’re paying cash because your comment about interest rates just drips with a smugness that shows you have no concept that others may not be in the same financial situation as you. F you dude.
You go girl!

Make decisions based on today, not in the future. Chances that your 9 old old car will develop issues are slim to none. It's ok to say you just wanted something new asap. Interest rates, seriously.
My situation is similar to @FLmac - originally placed an order for 20+ week wait for a Select MME a few weeks ago, but just yesterday my 8 year old BMW which has been great for 8 years, dies on my way home - "limp mode".

Found out that the costs to repair is way too high compared to the price of the car.

Asked the mechanic to just get the car to run enough to trade in.
Trying to minimize the trade in value.

Currently trying to find and EV and going this weekend to test drive:
Ford MME
Hyundai Kona EV
Audi eTron

If they have expiring leases they maybe better off purchasing the vehicle and then trading it for the Mach. Check out your buyout. There are $$ to be made. Better in your pocket?

Why would you need 2-3 oil changes, sparkplugs, brake fluid, coolant, fuel filter, air filter to drive maybe 10k in a year for a 9 year old car? You forgot to mention detailing your car.
1% interest rate increase will increase the payment $25 a month at the most.
All I asked was why people can't wait for their vehicles. It's ok to answer I just wanted it asap. At least you won't have to spend all that money on maintenance anymore. That should save you 2k a year at the least.

I am in the hot southern California and the MME are like gold.

I really hope you are correct and we will see some price normalization.

In the meantime, my dying BMW is fetching 50% more for trade in than "wholesale blue book" prices.

But definitely not enough to pay $20K over MSRP.

Going to test drive one as well as the Audi eTron this weekend.

Why would you assume I drive ā€œmaybeā€ 10k miles a year? Again, not everyone has your SAME exact situation. You know people have different lives than you right? I drive 18-20k a year and I like to change my oil every 5k miles, I would have hit 120k miles 2 months ago and probably hit 132k before my order arrived. Those are the maintenance intervals for my car. Have you ever owned a car with over 100k miles on it? Do you realize the chances of something major going wrong increase with the miles?
The ADM I paid is equal to the 1% rate increase plus I’m guaranteed the tax credit. Not to mention I don’t think rates are only going up 1%. I can wait, but why wait and spend more money to get less of a vehicle. I realize you think thereā€˜s something about waiting that makes you superior to those that didn’t wait. I’m not willing to gamble with less options or taking a smaller tax credit. A bird in the hand is better than 2 in the bush. You like the 2 in the bush where I’m perfectly happy with the one I’m holding.

Maybe because you have a 9 year old car with 110k. You are an angry person. Enjoy your lonely life. Over and Out.

We want to get one before Ford hits its limit and the $7500 federal tax credit starts phasing our. That’s expected to happen by the fall.
