I bought my 2023 Premium used (5,600 miles) in August 2024. Following the great advice of many members of this forum, I scheduled a 12v battery test from my Ford dealer close to the build date. Checked the car in and about 30 minutes later, the service advisor came and told me that my car had lead acid battery in it, which could cause all kinds of problems. He was taken aback when I told him that they sold me the car with that battery in it. He checked the vehicle history and found that when they got the car, it was noted in the receiving service report that it had a “non-Ford” 12v battery. I asked why they would sell a “certified” used vehicle with a battery that he had just told me would cause all kinds of problems? Of course he then went into, “ That was sales, we’re service”. He then said he would run the situation by his manger. He came back in five minutes and said they would replace the battery at no charge to me. Once again, an owner saved by advice from this forum!
