Wyoming would have a different outlook if 30 million people lived there. They depend on on tourism, and its easy to picture what the smog would do to that state. somebody is not thinking straight, considering they are discouraging their tourists.

I’ll have to look at the proposed map again, but it looked like it covered the current.blank spots
There are a couple of large wallmarts that I passed that would be perfect for fast chargers on that route and I would expect them to have them in a year or two.

And a ton of EV's on the road. I probably see at least 10-15 a day if not more. Granted, I'm in more of a blue section of the state, but even when I travel through and to the most red parts of the state...EV's all over.
So much open, year round sun and warmth (solar, better battery conditions) I would suspect play a role. Oh and retirees with disposable income. It would be interesting to do a cross section on the BEV driving populace.

Alas, this is a forum about MMEs and not political personalities.
Honestly, as politically polarizing as EVs can sometimes be, I'm shocked this forum doesn't turn into a political dumpster fire far more often. I guess it helps that everyone here is generally pro-EV, but obviously there are still some opinions here *gestures around wildly*

It's a nice dream, but no longer a reality.
It's really not even a nice dream.

Just look at the history of one-party states - more like a nightmare. And countries with many small parties? Generally they're a mess, too. It's not the two-party system that's the problem.

There is backroom animosity between Wyoming and California politicians. It goes back to when Wyoming wanted to sell power from upcoming wind farms to California. California didn’t want it because they figured Wyoming’s power usage would be offset by coal power. And it was too hard to get kickbacks from out-of-state, non-union companies. (The Anschutz Trans West project is a saga in itself.)

I think this bill is a dig at California banning ICE vehicles despite our crumbling electric grid. Some of the main towers are a hundred years old.

From NPR: “PG&E has been blamed for more than 30 wildfires since 2017 that wiped out more than 23,000 homes and businesses and killed more than 100 people.”

I did a road trip from California to Yellowstone last May. The one Wyoming DCFC I used was a 50kW Chargepoint in the Jackson Hole City Garage - and it was “on the house” courtesy of Jackson. I don’t know if the power was from coal, wind, or buffalo chips but the brew and bison burger was worth the wait time.
It is like the State of Wyoming took a script straight out of the Series "Yellowstone".

It is worth noting (for those that aren't familiar with the Series) that it does not end well for the State.

It would be like outlawing ICE and making only horse travel the only mode of transportation after New York had it's own share of problems back in the day. https://smartwatermagazine.com/blog...and-stairs-when-horses-were-cities-nightmares

I am sure back then that Wyoming would not have had the same issue/problem as New York City and they would be rubbing salt on the wound (in this case manure ;) ) just to show New York that they were out of touch with "outlawing" horses for transportation.

They are two total different locations with two total different scenarios.

And for what sense does this make? To get a few laughs.

Ever watched the show Yellowstone?

Discouraging California tourists is exactly what they’re trying to do.

Only “smog” Wyoming has ever seen looks more like “smug” coming from out of state.

OMG, what the HELL is it with WalMart and fast chargers. On our drive from Northern Mo to Milledgeville, GA 80% of the chargers were at WM. Talk about boring stops with no restaurants, etc.

I don’t disagree, but they have the space, one if not both of the Walmarts are in easy walking distance to restaurants, CVS etc. I would also like them to be covered.

so ordinarily I would want more services I am just looking at the reality of where they could conveniently place the fast chargers. I have also stopped at other Walmarts with a number of venues that are within easy walking distance.

in addition when you’re desperate for electricity, don’t be picky.

Interesting that Wyoming is taking that stance when neighboring Idaho is using its government infrastructure money to build an EV corridor for tourists to visit Yellowstone park which is 90% in Wyoming.

I was referencing the working together part instead of tearing each other down. The 2 party system worked when the leaders within the party tried to work together. It's been many years since the middle were the people the leaders tried to cater to. It keeps shifting further away from the middle and there is no pathway back to the center that I see.

Democracy has always been an experiment and I believe it's failing. I don't know what the answer is, but it's not this anymore.
