Update:

While waiting for the response from the dealership, I chatted with a Ford agent on Twitter. She suggested me to call the AXZ plan HQ, so I did. After I explained the situation to the agent at AXZ plan HQ, she told me that they do not have the price info, but she told me that my dealer was lying about they do not have the original pricing info. Lol.

Since she doesn’t have the price info, she transferred me to marketing team. I explained to the marketing team again, and the agent said those info can be easily retrieved from Ford Resources. She even said if the dealer can’t find it, the dealer can call the marketing number and they will instruct them.

Both agents told me that unfortunately I have to work it out with the dealership and that I need to be firm and push them to do the right thing. I guess maybe they got too many complaints from customer? Lol

Later, my sales informed me that the xplan and price protection are approved by the sales manager who talked to me yesterday. I am still waiting for the actual price paperwork. (She didn’t explain much detail in text messages about how the price is going to be calculated.)

Hopefully there is no more surprises…. (Finger crossed)

This makes me angry. They can 100% do X-plan and price protection. They did calculate it the slightly more expensive way, but in reasonable and and not gonna fight over $100.
1. Can
2. Know they can
3. Know how to do it

1 is true, but 2 and 3 will vary by dealership.

While 9 month waits and model year changes for new car orders are common now, it’s still pretty new for the dealerships.

I wish this stuff was published somewhere by Ford so you could just walk in with a sheet of paper or a website link to educate the dealers

They gave you correct info. You have to work our pricing with your dealer.

Ford doesn’t get involved with price negotiations. You aren’t buying the car from Ford, you buy from the dealer.

Glad to hear it’s approved. But it really shouldn’t be this hard for something like X plan that has very strict guidelines.
