We still love our Mach-E. It's fun, fast and the technology is awesome! Although we have to pay for charging in our home (no solar) our PGE bill has seen an increase of about $300 or less depending on use. Gas consumption before was around 1000 or more a month so huge savings right there alone. Not to mention the maintenance being next to nothing as well.

-- 1st wrench light/ issue August 2021 (13,291) vehicle was parked, would not go into gear or move and then completely died. Dealer was unable to diag, just recharged 12v Battery. This ended up being the 12v Battery issue.

-- 1st HVJB replacement January 2022 (27,298) was out of town 6+ hours away and stranded on Christmas eve. The 12v battery was also replaced at this time as it had been deemed defective.
*******This was a bad experience, however Ford did take care of a monthly payment and also paid for all the rental costs etc. nothing out of pocket other than 30 days worth of gas for a Kia Optima. They even paid for the flight for us to go pick it back up.*******

-- BlueCruise downloaded the week before going in for the windshield recall. A total of 16 months after purchase, we finally had it.
-- Windshield recall/ pano roof reseal in July 2 2022 (43,214), went well new windshield out of it as well.
-- 2nd HVJB (updated part this time) in July 12 2022 (44,097), was only out of service 1 week.

Now at 68,091 miles the only maintenance we have done is tire rotations (every 5-7500 miles) so this could have possibly helped extend the tire life. Wipers, and windshield washer fluid. We will not have to do the 100k fluid change for the coolant as it was done twice already with the HVJB replacements at 27k and again at 44k.

OTD updates have been coming in regularly since the BlueCruise update last year, just got 3 alone this month!

Overall, great car for our needs and we are still using the mobile charger to charge the car every night at home. Not sure of the battery life as the distance seems to still be the same, so nothing notable on the degradation of the battery. At least as of yet.

Love that other than the known issues, you’ve had a solid run with the car so far. Also cool hearing positive experiences from another dealer employee lol. That said, legitimately the only question o have is where did you get your digital decals?? I saw them once, never could find the thread again, and this is the first time since ?

It was a custom job done by my partner (his car). He did the graphics design on the computer and brought it to a local shop (one my dealer uses) and they brought it to life. Someone already copied it in Florida. Good thing they are far away ? he was not happy seeing a copycat! lol

Did you put a fake charge port outline on the passenger side?
Yes it is a fake one to make both sides equal. It throws everyone off lol

One thing I noticed when looking for an EV was a high number of high milage 1 or 2 year old cars. That's usually a good sign. Glad you're almost 70k down the road of happiness.

It is a recall. Search HVBJB recall or Stop Safely Now and enjoy yourself.

I appreciate your post, but as an owner who has spent (and is currently spending) an inordinate amount of time trying to even get the local service dept on the phone I think you (as an EV-focused employee of a dealer) have avoided a tremendous amount of the frustration many here have gone through.

The service departments are either totally overwhelmed or completely unprepared, it seems. While I have been incredibly patient during my two years of ownership, understanding the growing pains of local techs needing to be trained/repairs and updates taking much longer than Ford reimburses for etc, reading through your "mostly" glowing post made me feel like you were not subject to a major component of stress that most face.

I enjoy my car, and don't regret the purchase, but the sheer volume of my time it has taken to attempt to communicate/work with both the local dealer and Ford is not nothing ... and while many of the issues we've all faced should be getting worked out, I do feel like prospective owners should take this into consideration when consuming your "hey man, a ton of miles and barely any problems!" post.

Thanks for sharing, sincerely, just wanted to point that out.

Thanks for sharing OP.
My '22 MME GT (non PE) HVBJB failed at around 12,500 miles with me....... pushing it into failing sooner rather than later.

I DID NOT know though that they drain / replace the fluid when they replaced it with the beefier part. So that's great to know. Now mine has about 13,500 miles and still going strong.

All good here for this UK leccy ā€˜Stang owner.

21mths and 53,000 miles mainly with over half a tonne of tools in back, saved Ā£1,000s in fuel, never experience difficulty getting a charge whilst out & about, no major problems, replaced that crappy toy rear wiper with a longer one, had the dodgy door badges renewed & fixed properly, don’t use the wireless charger because it is absolutely pants.

Had its first service at 18,500 miles before they extended service intervals with no other issues……….apart from the stop placed on car delaying delivery for that ID10T error with the e-call system.

Changed a set of rear tyres earlier and just changed a full set.

Charging at home is by 3-phase ABB charger which delivers full EV charge in c7 hours for c£15

Car’s drop-dead gorgeous, a joy to drive.

Keep doing a state of health report on the battery cells, no dramas in there.

Ignoring or at least being amused by all the anti EV propaganda mainly from moron journos who have a car for a day and write as though they are experts, and those who suck in and swallow all they churn out.

Best yet was an overheard conversation ā€œthe tyres are so expensive because they have to be special tyres, they have to be fireproofā€. Erm, fireproof rubber & oil indeed??ā€ā™‚

Loving mine, Enjoy yours!

SilentD asked what I was thinking. I too had my HVBJB replaced at 8200 miles. I couldn’t help pushing it, since it is a GT. Great experience with my dealer. 13,800 miles and approaching 1 year. Still lovin it.
