So the cables arenā€™t any longer
Not on those, anyway. Off-hand it looks like it's probably a retrofit of existing chargers rather than new ones.

Iā€™m really wanting someone to test a MME so we get a good idea of if it reaches on these
I doubt it will work on a straight pull-in (blocking the wrong spot, no less). Just eyeballing it, it looks like the stand SC cables are maybe 6 feet long? I just measured my car and accounting for a 90 degree cable bend at the port, it's about 5' to the front bumper. That only leaves maybe 12" distance between the charger and the bumper. If it does reach, the car would have to be practically touching the bollard with the cable stretched tight. Probably not possible, and certainly not advisable.

Since we'd have to use the "wrong" spot anyway (thus blocking 2 chargers), more practical is just a sideways park. Left end being the obvious 1st choice.

(That is a retrofit. I found the station on Plushare and it was there with the normal handle docks last year.)

Anyone with a Lightning can try to see if it can reach the charge port with these Tesla Superchargers?
Looks like the Rivian in the pic is parked in what will be the only way to use it lol

So Tesla gets to cash in with Federal NEVI funds because the network is "open", but many CCS cars can't actually use it because the cables are too short. (Will someone sue because of this?)

Tesla drivers will either be happy that no CCS cars can use 'their' network or they'll be really pissed because CCS cars have to park sideways and block up to 3-4 spots.

Just wait, Tesla's going to say the solution is for other manufactures to move their charge port location instead of installing longer cables.

Tesla will still have to adhere to the NEVI standards of a minimum of 4 x 150kW chargers. Just from the economies of scale you can easily imagine (but not guarantee) it'll be double that at each station.

That being said, we already know that Tesla will have a minimum of 50% CCS plugs at a few of their massive Superchargers in California. Listed below are the total number of stalls before the 50% is applied.

Baker (expansion) - 56 stalls
Willows - 100 stalls
Barstow - 100 stalls
Coalinga (expansion) - 164 stalls

Yep. We already hear the Tesla peeps screaming about standard charge port locations (to their location, of course). Now those screams will get 10x louder.

No doubt we'll see both - CCS cars that can't charge at all, and CCS cars that block multiple spots (often via the "wrong" spot). The left end will be a popular charger at many locations, but ends are always popular anyway. Be really hard to get that one. And that only works if there's room to pull up laterally to.

I'm hoping that many of the Tesla expansion plans include some of the MagicDock chargers being in a better layout (accessible from any side/angle). But this first example isn't promising for that.

it's not that they are charging, it is however that they are rentals (uber drivers) and charge to 100% every.single.time.. Tesla will slow way down past 80% The uber drivers do not care that there are many other people waiting to charge.
It's sad since if they only went to 80% every time, they would save enough time for probably a few more trips that they can make money on. So they are leaving money on the table really.

Generalizations are generally bad, but if those rented Uber Tesla drivers knew how to do math, they probably wouldn't be renting Teslas to do Uber...
