Sorry if this has been posted before but I couldn't find anything doing a search. Yesterday I was using Google maps through Android Auto to navigate from a nearby store to a local restaurant and as I set off it through up a message saying I had insufficient charge to reach my destination and put up a list of nearby chargers. My destination was 4 miles away and the GOM showed a range of 185 miles. The car had been charged to about 87% earlier that day and I had only traveled 2 miles since unplugging in my garage. I exited the message and drove to the restaurant with no issues and haven't seen the the message since. Is this just bad math on Google's part? has anyone else seen this issue?

I have seen it happen a couple of times in my now traded MME and in my Lightning. It always fixes itself in a little bit. I think it's just a glitch in the Matrix.

I had something similar happen last week but with the built-in navi. Had just finished fast charging to around 80%, put the car in drive, and it threw up something about the HVB being critically low. Display showed charge in red at 0% but still over 200 miles on GOM. Pulled over, shut off, waited 30 seconds, turned back on, everything normal.

If it's any consolation, this sometimes happens with Apple Maps too.

This may or may not apply but at times I have been sitting somewhere with the car in accessory mode and noticed that Android Auto would show suggested destinations with negative SOC predictions. What I think is happening is that it is making a query for the current SOC and getting an error and as such uses zero for the current SOC. Once I turn on the car drive a bit it corrects this.

AA needs a way to ignore that message. Last roadtrip, car was saying I didnt have enough to make it home, but I knew I was fine, arrived with 5%. I had to set arrival SOC to 1% and wait until the car thought I would have more than 4% to turn on Nav.

There is zero reason to ever use Accessory Mode.

Interesting idea. When we start charging, we typically pull up the navi and put in the next charging stop (since it still doesn't know about Tesla superchargers :headbang:) so we can compare the GOM to the actual distance. Sometimes after we start driving it will drastically reduce the GOM estimate, when it apparently realizes we really are driving to that location.

Odd, I just had this happen for the first time every yesterday as well. Just got in the car and started driving and noticed the google suggestion for my home showed a -4% arrival when I was just 5 or 6 miles away and at 70% charge. From the math it looked like google thought I was at 0% battery and calculated from there. It correct after about 5 minutes or less of driving but it was very odd. Some delay in the soc reading with adroid auto?

Another thing I have noticed about Android Auto’s suggestions SOC is that they aren’t always real time. I have driven some miles from home and noticed the predictions were as if I was still sitting at home. I have never seen this though if I have given an actual destination.

Surely there's some weird maintenance Contra code that requires it. Turn on accessory mode, up blinker, up blinker, down blinker, down blinker, brake, gas, brake, gas, high beams, select, start - and it resets the blinker fluid indicator

Jokes aside, accessory mode is seriously some weird vestigial mode that Ford put in because they've always had it and it makes zero sense in an electric car. Whenever an electric car is stopped, it's in accessory mode

There’s less energy expended with just one button push vs button push plus foot on brake …
Homo Sapien Personal Energy management! I like it. ;)

No, No, No! Rewrite the entire diagnostic code so we don’t have to use accessory mode! :p

In all honesty, unless I’m turning accessory mode on from outside the car I always step on the brake. Why? Old habits. :)
