Is the chip present in only the early '23 MY? Mine is a job 1, built in June of '23. Can I assume mine has the chip?

Edit: Just reread your original post. Guess I'll need to bust out ol' laptop and connect to find out.

Yes, enough, I added info in the first post - how to recognize your part number using forscan
Well I have that part number on my '23 J1 model. Hmmmm.

I do miss the kick to open on my '23 model though. I used that all the time on my '21 model with both hands full with groceries.
Funny thing about the kick to open Mike. It worked so seldom, like almost never, on my early build 21 that I never used it. Then, about 6 months ago, while loading it up at home for something or another, I kicked it to open the hatch, and it opened. I probably audibly gasped and said something. It’s been working ever since. I think I can hear the car snickering at me.

So if I get a 26 stealth Rally or a California Special, I’m not sure how I’m supposed to feel about not having that feature which never worked but now does.

But the self park feature? Yeah, ain’t nobody misses that. ;)

That's cool, I will check my 23 and see. It would at least be the fun "party trick", as mentioned. But man, looking at that video, it seems like way more work (and time) than just parking!

If the current modules have the ability to support self park, then the feature should have been added back in when that happened. If there was no intent to resurrect the feature, then the button should have been eliminated or repurposed for something actually useful.

Nope, I have 11/22 production date and I also saw the same date with different modules, w/ and w/o chip. As far as I know second half of 2023 has IPMA with chip, and yes, better to check via forscan

So, you can try activate)

TBH it was much narrower there than in the video and the car did well, especially since my starting position was uncomfortable for the car (and even the driver). There was also a concrete column on the left which may not be visible in the video.

Awesome! I'll have to check my APIM. So do your side sensors function now on screen?
my front camera doesn't work, I'm still waiting for a new one, which is why the side mirrors don't work either (yes, because of the wrong front camera), so don't pay attention, but for now the photos show how the side sensors work

Just an info from my side, having a European 2022 Job1 RWD ER TP2 (built Feb22) incl. functional park assist (I have used it less than a handful of times).

My IPMA HW is the LJ8T-14G647-FT, and I see two differences in the config:

For IPC difference in markets NA and ECE (EU market) only
About low power mode - saw it, that some vehicles has 73, and other 33, but idk what does it means...

Maybe we in old Europe have not reached low-power mode yet

Oh, the randomised functionality of kick to open tailgate😬

I notice it ALWAYS opens without fail……when I’m not carrying anything, must have some kind of sensor to detect that.

It seldom works to close the tailgate recently.

I have found the kick to open bonnet/hood don’t work when I kick under the front bumper until I realise which end of the car I’m atšŸ˜‚

And as for auto park? Surely Iit’s easier to park the car yourself what with all the cameras, sensors etc so to go to all that effort installing a new chip, reprogramming etc etc takes time that surely could be better spent………like installing these pictured in the attachment though wifey don’t quite see the necessity I do😬

My Aug 22 build doesn’t have it unfortunately. I checked with mobile Forescan. I just want the side sensors working but I guess we still need that chip for those?

Don't buy only the chip with the goal of installing yourself it or having it installed by someone else unless you or the other person have the proper skills and equipment. The printed circuit board assembly was made using reflow soldering. While this chip can be hand soldered to the board, soldering a 16 pin flatpack takes a steady hand and the correct tools. An ESD soldering station is absolutely necessary. It is common for assembly technicians to attend "solder school" for a week and pass tests in order to perform this type of work.

Seems like a lot of effort to enable a feature that Ford has now discontinued in all vehicles due to lack use.

Given that it only parks you next to a vehicle, and refuses to park you rows away where nobody can ding your doors, I never use it anyway.

I've offered to sell my 21 Auto Park chip in the past. Oddly, no takers. ;)
