Was in a very low speed bump. I was impressed as to how little damage there was. This was the only thing I could see. I was thinking I would try to fix it myself. But after the accident the front collision started going off with no on in front. Then it went to a total failure so no cruise control would work. So I just went ahead and submitted the claim. There is just under $12k. Mostly brackets and harnesses. Calibration and wham over 10k. Waiting to here about how long but it started with the fact that I have a Rally and parts maybe hard to get.

Are you saying the estimate to fix that is 12,000 dollars?

The lidar next to the vents is either messed up or misaligned.

There’s usually something beyond the plastic bumper parts damaged even when outwardly the untrained eye sees very little damage.

If I had £1 for every time I examined a car after somebody said there was no damage and found £1000’s of damage I’d be able to pay to have your car repaired and a hundred like it😂

Hope you get it fixed OK.

I had a similar issue with mine, debris in the road hit it. Post insurance claim it was $4K. I feel like it is a ripoff...!

Ford Service Centers will always pillage. See if there is a local EV-focused shop in your area. I kicked in my shutter, clearing snow (hint - don't do this!), and found a local EV auto shop in Denver (Mile Hybrid Automotive) that replaced the whole shutter assembly for about $850.

This country is going to hell in a hand basket. Hang in there. This is what insurance is for. And your policy was going to increase 30% regardless 🤷🏻‍♂️.

Is this what insurance is for? Or is that backwards? Insurance might be why the bid is the high… I’m not saying all shops overprice and over-diagnose based on insurance paying for it, but we all know some do. And this is one reason why car insurance premiums have skyrocketed.

I put a big dent in my door and took it to a big fancy collision center - was told the fix was over $4k and I’d definitely want to file an insurance claim. Took it to a small shop and he fixed it good as new for $1,200. About the cost of my deductible.

My wife hit a Canada Goose that flying low across the road. Took out all the shutters on passenger side and broke the lidar mount off.

Submitted an online claim with SafeCo which they rejected and in the same letter, reminded us of the criminal penalties for submitting a fraudulent insurance claim.

After a couple of days to cool off, I got the national number for Safeco, called, got shuffled around then explained to their adjuster (in a terse but mostly polite voice) that if I was stupid enough to file a fraudulent damage claim that I sure-as-hell (my words) would have come up with a more believable reason than running into a flying goose (he agreed).

2 days later we were notified that the claim was approved. Our Ford dealer body shop did the work in 3 days and they billed Safeco the $1,400.

Needless to say we are now with a different insurance company.

Shall I be the one to note the car doesn't have lidar, or should I leave that to someone else...?

🤔😬

Saw a semi hit a Canada Goose at speed in the highway once - it looked like a a fighter jet had deployed countermeasures, except it was feathers.

'Dem are big birds!
