Oh dang it! I blame my wife... She was supposed to double check my work. ? I wish I could just update the video on YouTube, but I'd have to delete and replace which kills the algorithm.
??... that's me getting thrown under a bus...haaahah
Um can we pretend it's like "Part" of the parking assist? Totally on purpose man!

Impressive that Ford implemented the next turn information on the instrument cluster from Android Auto (before this, I believe Honda was the only manufacturer to use this information AA provides to the car).

Does anyone know if they also implemented the equivalent for next turn info from CarPlay on iOS?

Nice video. It inspired me to try "Parking Assist". Total disaster. The first park was a parallel park with a LOT of room. It found the space, but then zoomed in too fast for my taste -- my wife was shrieking -- and went very close to the parked Maserati. It stopped. She said: "This is totally crooked", which was totally true. I said "Don't worry, it will straighten itself out". Then it finished. ?

So I figured I'd try a back-in job in our driveway. Seemed safe. The problem was that it never recognized a space. After a couple of tries I just cancelled.

The park assist in my wife's '20 Explorer needs something to identify a parking spot. If you drive in an empty lot it's not going to work. It's not looking at the lines on the ground, it's looking to park you a set distance from an adjacent vehicle. If there is no car/structure nearby to define a space it won't work. Have not tried it in the Mach-E yet.

It made me nervous when it was backing towards my car. It goes faster than I thought it would.

I thought it was really slick. I'll have an iPhone and Android phone that I can test with when my Mach-E comes in.

I'm going out on a limb and saying I'm not going to ever try park assist around a Maserati, let alone my FIRST try! Thanks for the video, I'm all subscribed! That's the first time I've seen Google assistant used and it looks like I'm going to be on Android auto just like you guys.

Btw, that band send you the cease and desist yet? :)

Looks like we are OK. Not worried about the band really. It's always the record label. I used a friends song in a video I did last year on Memorial Day. I even got his written permission. He is really a small time DJ, but I still got dinged. Luckily, I won on appeal.

BTW... When I say they are our favorite band, it is not an exaggeration. We've been to 50 shows since 2014 -- mostly in Denver, but also in New Orleans, Santa Fe, Albuquerque, LA, and Berkeley. They are all masked and have 57 people in the band including drummers, Taiko drummers, creepers, chaos techs, and more.

Here's a video we made back in 2019 from the Interplanetary Festival in Santa Fe:

Itchy-O is wild, I saw them last at Meow Wolf Santa Fe - their ability to command the audience and involve everyone is powerful. Hard to describe, but certainly not like any other "performance" most people are thinking of, though I understand that early GWAR had a similar flavor.

Maybe in solidarity I should dye my grey hair Rapid Red when I receive mine. ? Of course I don't have to appear on YouTube, just colleagues on Zoom and Teams.
Is there a $400 upcharge for Rapid Red hair dye as well? ?

We were at that show! They've performed 3 times at Meow Wolf and we made it to all 3. LOL

Small world! Looking forward to a CO MachE meetup when the weather is nicer (and we are doing things like meetups again)! I'm up in Boulder - saw a red MachE just yesterday driving through town...
