I was told by the dealership that the shipping part is going to be long and not to panic when you see the car sitting for weeks in a location that's totally normal.
My 22GT took exactly 90 days to ship. Sat around the rail yard for a bit just to be transferred to the adjacent rail yard. Basically disappeared it seemed as it took forever to rail to the Pacific Northwest. It seemed there were all kinds of strange shipping situations going on back then due to delays with components and cars stacking up at the plant. When it finally hit the barge to Alaska it went smoothly. The date it arrived was the date the dealer told me when it first was shipped. So I will just check with the dealer once my 26 is shipped and that is what I will expect. Probably around 90 days like the last time.
That’s the way it was when the car was first launched. In fact, if you go back to posts from the early 2021s, you’ll see people where posting satellite photos of the plant in Cuatalan and speculating on how many rail cars would be needed to draw down the lot when it got full.
Barge to Alaska? Couldn’t they ship by train through Canada?

No trains from Canada to Alaska. Not sure how far north they go into Canada - Edmonton probably. The highway up to here wasn’t even paved all the way until 1982. Drove it in 80 and it was a bit of an Adventure. There is rail north from Anchorage to Fairbanks but cars are trucked up from Anchorage which is their arrival port. The barge from Seattle to Anchorage is relatively quick..

Wow! Ok. I knew there were trains in Alaska because friends of mine who’ve gone on cruises up there have taken them. I didn’t know there was no connection to the Canadian rail system.
Thanks. I did try to follow those, using both safari and edge (on a Mac). Sadly, there seem to be enough differences between Edge on a Mac and (what I assume your directions were for) Edge on Windoze.
