Early to not so long ago photos of the Mach-E in development showed the digital speed in the center of the 10 inch screen. Our vehicle has it to the right side where it is not as easly seen if the steering wheel is not set in a certain manner. I do not like it on the right side of the screen and I was sure our unit had it in the middle when we picked it up. Why is it not in the middle? What is the middle used for?

Is lane keep assist on or are you using the navigation?

Hmm? Do they reconfigure their speedometer in a worse way? Mach-E is the first car I've had with lane-keeping.

Nah but there is no "in front of you" speed display in a Tesla, you have to look way to the right to see it on the only tablet they have!

Might not be perfect on the MME, but far better than having to turn your head to see it

Yup, turn off lane-keep and the speedometer will be in the middle. I really hope they change this behavior to let us choose what we want in the middle and what gets moved off to the side.
It's also necessary to turn off the following distance indicator and cruise control.

That's great, I'm going to try this today! It's been driving me nuts that I could not configure the speed to the center of the display, particularly when it's really the main thing I need to see on that display and it's obscured by my hand.

Hopefully a future OTA makes this more user configurable, but for now this is fantastic news. Thanks you made my day!

I'm a bit puzzled as to how to turn off the lane-keeping system. When I browse to the settings there are no options to actually turn it off that I can see.

What am I missing here?

You disable it on the steering wheel.
Wow... I've literally combed through every setting in every menu and it never occurred to me that it would be a hardware button! Thanks, I got it now ??

You don't have to turn your head to see the speed in a Tesla Model 3/Model Y.

You simply move your eyes slightly to the right, the same distance as you would if you were looking at the Mach-E speed display. It's also no different than moving your eyes to see your navigation. At least in the Tesla, the speed is always in the same spot every time, no matter what you're doing or mode you're in. Also, the Model X & S have "in front of you" speed display.

Basically its so you don't have to take your hands off the wheel to set it.
