I lost patience after two weeks. I'm not sure how the rest of you were able to wait so long! You have my respect.

I canceled my order and bought a nearly identical MME from a dealer lot. The only difference was the lack of Interior Protection Package. I may go aftermarket, or just skip it. Great car so far!

Dealer honored the X-Plan pricing, and accepted a $3k down payment via rewards credit card. I also have a Delaware $2500 tax incentive that was applied as an additional down payment. Remainder financed at 0.9% over 48 months.

One of the easiest vehicle purchases I've ever made. Now I need to get an appropriate power outlet to charge this thing.. 3 miles per hour charging from a standard outlet isn't going to cut it! :)
Which dealership?

wait time is very long. Wonder if the chip shortage is hitting the MME production. so I checked around with bunch of dealers. After 5 dealers saying their MME is not for sale, finally the 6th one had one available. i took it right away. It was 110 miles away, but totally worth it. for sure beat the 6-9 months of waiting.
so the moral: call around. If u don’t mind a bit driving, u may just be able to find one!

I’ve been thinking about this chip shortage. Ford either has the components to build a vehicle or they don’t. If they don’t then the vehicle doesn’t get built more slowly. It doesn’t get built at all.

A chip shortage doesn’t slow production down. It stops it. As long as the plant is still operating, I don’t believe chips are the real problem.

Ford did just announce that they're suspending production of the F-150 for a couple days. So far it looks like that's the only vehicle affected.

Ford's Mexican plants seem to be operating as normal (for now).

That makes sense. Shutting MME production down wouldn’t have nearly the same impact. Hopefully they will keep running.

Who knows? They might even get around to building mine someday.

Unbelievable. They were in the news like a month ago for offering mache with the second highest dealership fee in the country. It was like $15k mark up. Number one was a few hundred $ more at a dealership in California.

Question on MME owners' experience with tracking shipment of completed cars. My car has a manufacture date of 3/13, a ship date of 3/18, and an ETA of 4/6 (based on the VIN tracker on this forum). My dealer has been tracking the status of the train, and said that as of today (two full weeks after shipment) my car is still on a train in eastern Mexico. However, the status tracker he's using said the same exact thing four days ago.

Is there usually a lag in the tracker the dealer uses, or is it just likely that it takes 2-3 weeks to get to the U.S. side of the border via rail?

I know that it's wishful thinking to assume I'll get my car by the ETA date (given that it's only three weeks after the ship date), but I was hoping that the dealer's shipment tracker is lagged and that my car is further along the shipping route than we believe. Someone please sprinkle fairy dust on my request and tell me that my car is probably on a truck between KC and metro Detroit :)

That is a very optimistic ETA. Mine was sent to shipping on 3/4 with an ETA of 4/22. Still has not shown up at KC but, to meet the ETA, it should be soon.
