That's clever! I remember Car and Driver got one of those "stealth hitches" for a long-term BMW X7 a while back. I'm curious as to why Ford wouldn't offer something like this as a factory option. I mean, the ID.4 has it, so why not the Mach-E? My guess is that since this is badged a Mustang, it's a more performance-oriented car, so I guess Ford didn't expect many people to ask for one.

I would be very interested but plastic cover to cover the opening is a must. In cold climate I would have way too much accumulation of calcium deposits and gravel in a hard to clean area.
No go till the cover comes with a hitch . Other wise beautiful design

I remember a story about Toyota execs going to Australia and being surprised that Aussies will use anything to tow (Corollas, Yaris etc!).
And why today so many cars when being sold in Australia have towing available

Nice installation. i called Stealth and asked to be put on their list for a hitch with 1.25 receiver for a bike rack. Delivery date uncertain. I encourage other MME owners to call them if you need a hitch. More orders might encourage them to complete the final version.

I volunteered my MME to Stealth Hitches to be their design model. As the name implies, their specialty is manufacturing trailer hitches that are not visible when not in use. The design is absolute brilliance. I am so impressed.

Here's how the back of the car looks with the new mounting hardware. Very stealthy!

Here's how it looks with the receiver in place:

And here is what you see from under the car.

They installed the full towing package (with electrical connector), but warned me that Ford does not specify any towing specs for the car in the US (which I already knew from this forum). My primary use is as a bike rack carrier.

It will be about a month before the hitches are commercially available, but they are taking reservations if you call them. Speak to Richard Gomrick @ 678-714-3592. https://stealthhitches.com No, I don't get any commission, though they did provide the hitch to me for free. ?
Looks amazing! What date and price are we looking at?

does the kick sensor still work?
This is the type of hitch I want for my mach E as the only use I have for the hitch is my bike rack.

The kick sensor still works unless the receiver is installed.
