Another thread where the dealer doesnt know about the options plan.

Was talking to the finance manager here, im in Kentucky, and he had never heard of it and was going to make a call to his financing rep.

I know I saw someone on here recently that was able to help these guys out from within ford. Can someone Reply or DM me the details to get the finance manager help?

Conversations are open for business.

Thanks for the details, that's very helpful. I've forwarded your information to the appropriate people to have the Ford Credit dealer rep reach out to provide assistance to the dealership.

IMHO, that F&I person should be fired.

If a deal was left hanging in my dealership, it wouldn't take me 4 minutes to take them out 'back of the woodshed.

Its probably the first time someone has requested it. They only had a select when I test drove back in... march-ish, They probably sold it or traded it the day it hit 4k or whatever months. If the buyer didnt ask for options...

I have not seen another one there in the intervening months and have to drive by there on Sundays most weeks.

Hopefully they get to it quickly though cause if they want me to come up there today I need to go to the bank before 2 for a same day transfer.

Ugh, Hopefully someone can chime in here.

So I got a call just after lunch and they came back with a $692 payment. I was flabberghasted (for reference my credit is great or excellent depending on if you use fico 8 or 9).

So we ran through the numbers, 60,092.00 after tax, which was what i expected, including their 690 doc fee.

What took me off guard was they wanted 16K down and that for a payment.

I couldnt figure out how that was even possible so I took off 90 mins early from work and went up there and we went through the paperwork.

8%, 8 freakin percent. I told him he was crazy in nicer terms, and showed him on the ford website the normal assuming good credit rate is south of 2.9%. which also explained why we were over 100 higher than i was willing.

So hes making some calls to someone at Ford, but said the lady told him this was her 3rd today and they were all at 8%. I think someone screwed up.

So, hes going to call me back after he makes some calls, but Either they come down or I walk. This isnt a credit card ffs.

Anyone have any thoughts on this? Im just taken aback, Ive purchased 3 new and probably a dozen plus used cars in my lifetime, ive never had a payment, or a percentage apr so far off from what I expected. The good thing for me is, I can walk. no harm no foul, this was going to be a 3rd vehicle for us.

Help? Maybe?

Edit: For reference, my expectations werent insane, was going to put 12K down and expected a payment south of 600.

Are you looking at Ford Options or the APR programs?

Directly off of the Ford Build and Price website, just looking at the rates not your amount to finance.

Ford Options:
Has 2.25% for Tier 0/1 approvals:

Options, I took my iPad and literally showed him this. He agreed the numbers (apr and incentive) were not what he was getting from “her”. He called someone else and said “he” will get back to me, the. He can get back to me. It was a balloon financing sheet, we did the match sitting there and with the absurd interest rate and missing incentive that was the issue, but he can only do what corporate tells him (that’s what he said). I think someone has messed up, I hate to walk away because someone above the dealer screwed up, but an extra 100 a month over 36-48 months adds up to be more than I’m willing to pay.

If you showed the dealer the program number they can look it up.

If the dealer is still having issues with Options they can reach out to their Ford Credit rep, like they have already.

I think they got it, I just got a call and he said he had to get new “source code” which seems odd to me in the IT world so I assume it means something different, so I’m putting 13 down and payment is 590. I’m happy with that. I’m so stubborn about under 6 because I put 300 per payday (twice a month) into an account for our next vehicles, so other than insurance this doesn’t change the budget.

Congrates, what is the balloon payment? Sounds like you did ok in the end. Mine took all day for them to figure out and they still messed up as they lowered my down payment which made my payments slightly higher but at 6 PM I was ready to be done with them.

21000 balloon, right now I don’t plan to keep it after that, but if we decide to keep it that seemed reasonable.
I’ve been working with them on this since 9:30 eastern today. Fortunately I only spent 30 mins up there, the dealership is about 5 miles from my house so no big deal. Tomorrow I will go do paperwork and the checklists.

I think I did OK, not stellar but what can you expect for first model year and a shortage? In the end I’m not effected too much and “gas” should be cheap for the wife and I.

the only thing that sticks in my side is the retail price of the car, it’s morethan I paid for a brand new crew cab full bed length truck in 2017 (which you can probably figure why I wanted to add on the mustang with that things gas mileage)

yup, I kept my 2014 Ram 1500 Crew cab 6'4" bed, Hemi 4x4 and this is a 3rd car. My payment is a hair over $600 but mine is std range rwd, so my ballon is $18k.
