Ok, after long fighting with the FordPass and MME not talking to each other (after 2+ months of working almost ideally) I finally managed to fix the issue, it took me about 10-15 minutes but it worked after nothing worked before. Here is the link - go to the last message on the page. Hope it will help to fix this problem that suddenly showed up:

Gonna chime in here too. My PaaK experience up until the last app update was mostly just fine. There were a few issues, but most had fairy easy resolutions (unlock phone, launch Ford app, done). But now I’m starting to have issues with PaaK that make me a little worried. I just had to do the phone reboot dance. And then I watched the Ford app crash once before it finally worked.

It sounds like a minor thing, but one of the things that I’ve enjoyed with this car is not needing to carry around car keys. Losing that feature, even temporarily, is a big disappointment for me.

In addition to all of that, I can no longer trust what the app is telling me for the charge level. I’ve seen the values on the Home Screen differ from what’s on the charging screen many times now. Even the little banner at the bottom has been different that what is shown elsewhere on the same screen.

I really hope that Ford can work through these issues fast. It’s tough to have to tell someone who’s interested in the car when they ask about how the car is so awesome except that the app is hot garbage. It’s a black eye on an otherwise fantastic car.

So, having had our MME since Valentine's Day (FEB 2021)... we have been one of the few who have had little to no issues with PAAK. That all changed over the last week. Not sure if FORD, like Apple, pushes firmware or software without owner's consent.. but...

Our PAAK is now BRICK (No Key detected)for: Push Button open , or Start Button

Neither phone is recognized by the car. And while the car says No Key Detected.. we are forced to use our APP or Door Code to unlock the car and our backup password to Start.

Seriously, we have been very conservative and happy with the car.. but to suddenly not be able to use the '1' Item they preach... I shake my head.

I know "Stuff Happens".. and it always happens to us... but this is the one time I did NOT intentionally anger the Power-that-BE or 'Murphy'...

UGGH
Ummm, since when does Apple or Ford push firmware or software updates without an owners consent.

The only way for this to happen is if you have Automatic Updates turned on.

First world problems hence the reason your vehicle comes with a key fob.

I also have to agree that saying PAAK is a brick is a bit misleading.

I've been loosely following this thread, and so far haven't noticed anyone define PAAK is now BRICK from the post headline. So I thought I should give it a guess.

Is it "Phone-as-a-Key is now Best Replaced with the Included Car Key?" ?
No! It must be replaced with an additional fob provided free of charge. ??

I agree. I paid for my second fob. Now I got a cheap 3rd one and was able to program myself. Since now I have 3 fobs, I tried dismantling the cheap one and It works fine without battery (just need to be inside the middle console). I think it can be turned into a credit card size and stored in the wallet as a failsafe to PaaK (I hate to type the long password). The PaaK experience has been bad for me since the beginning.

I have the Fordpass crash problem not too long ago. Try these steps:

1. Delete the Ford pass app.
2. Go to the Bluetooth setting and “forget” all Fordpass related BT connections. Like sync4,
3. Go To general->CarPlay “forget” sync4.
3. Re-install Fordpass app
4. Setup PAAK again.

So far so good. Hope it fixes your problem too.
Right now it is not giving me the option to setup PAAK... I got an email from ford.com saying that some services will be held for 48 hours due to the "Master Reset"...

I’m done. Up to now, this PAAK debacle has created a situation where I have to wonder what will happen every time I want to drive my car, and setting off my wife every time she tries to drive it.

Now, when I try to use the PAAK without the fob, after two failed attempts, the alarm goes off, also setting my wife off.

going to the dealer today to get a second fob, and dumping the app.

Ford IT Has made it clear that they are beating, if not a dead horse, at least a dying one.

My paak doesn't work 100% of the time, but works most of it. To make it work I always open the app when I'm walking towards the car, else android puts it in a deep sleep mode.

When it doesn't work I use the passcode, I created a short one exactly because of that.

I don't like the idea of carrying a fob

Same happened to me, FOB comes in handy. Check if the car's Bluetooth connectivity is still enabled - it may say it is on but it may not be broadcasting. OTA PowerUp 1.6.0 disabled connectivity in my car even though it said it was still on. You have to turn Connectivity off then back on from the vehicle control screen, then remove the PaaK from inside the car, then from your phone, and then re-pair the phone and re-enable PaaK. I have detailed this in other threads.
The Bluetooth not working is a very common issue and all fords.

This morning PaaK decided it didn't want to play nice. Remote started the car with FP just fine. Went out to the garage 10 minutes later, unplugged, and it wouldn't let me in. Pulled out my phone and opened FP then the car unlocked and I got in. No Key Detected. WTH. Opened FP again and set my phone on the console. Still no dice. Entered backup code and drove off. ?

This happens t me daily and i have a newer build. I use the passcode to get in alot because front door wont open. Did you try to open back door? That works most of the time I open back door then front door opens. Not sure why but it does. When I get no key detected I open Ford App and set phone on wireless charger and that usually works. This all started with the new updates PAAK 1.6 and 1.4 and car 3.28 updates. Hopefully future updates fix it.

I don’t understand the disparity in results with PAAK. Mine has been mostly 100% reliable with just two on operator error failures. Others can barely get it to work. I think a lot of it is Bluetooth idiosyncrasies and limits, but the vast differences just don’t make much sense.

Google to the rescue. Googling the "threads/..." part of the link will find you the "BANNED" site that cannot be mentioned. lol.

That particular “solution” comes from @dtbaker61 on this website iirc. Haven’t found it here, but if he knows where on these forums it’s at perhaps he will link it.
