I like it very much and it's my first electric vehicle. One thing I can't get over is the braking, there's a "brake coach" to teach how you how brakes should be applied. Whenever I want to brake hard, it just doesn't stop.

Does anyone know if I can switch from D to N when coasting to stop? Would that help to brake in shorter distances?
Under the car settings there's a "break coach" slide/switch/toggle.

Check under settings -> vehicle or settings -> general.

Try driving on unbridled. The break also feel more to my liking than the other two. If i hott he break, we better stop.

------------

Love my MME. I've owned Jeeps, Mazdas, Toyotas. I've driven friends Kias, Hyundais, and Hondas. It has an amazing and graceful way about it. Accelerating from a stop light hasn't gotten any less fun in months of owning it. The love people have for the car & the future of vehicles is honestly surprising & inspiring. People love to ask questions and I've come to learn for many this may be the first time they see an electric up close.

I knew from the moment I did a test drive that this was it. It's the first electric car that looks "normal" but elegant. This was the car that would be worth replacing my 2018 Jeep Cherokee (Limited 3.2L V6) with.

I'm in Northern CA. RWD X in space white. A little over 9000 miles since we got it March 3. Will be leaving for San Diego Labor Day Weekend and then on to Tennessee. After a short stay in TN, we'll come back to San Jose. We also own a Subaru Forester and a one year old Motorhome with a Ford Transit base. We're just taking the Mach E. We've driven it enough to feel comfortable about the charging experience and although there are minor annoyances with PAAK, the infotainment and sometimes the driver assistance features, I'm extremely happy with the car. In 55 years of driving, this is the best car I've owned. And it's why we're taking it on this trip instead of using other options.

There's been a lot said about charging. I live in San Jose. We drove almost 200 miles to Manchester, CA a couple of times since I've had the car. Manchester is along HWY 1 on the coast. I arrived with about 130 miles of range left and the AC was on most of the time. We also took our motorhome. Parked the motorhome in a KOA and plugged it into the 30 AMP outlet. Then plugged in the MME next to it using the 50 AMP outlet. No extra charge for plugging in the MME so filled it up overnight. We did several day trips using the MME. Never paid for electricity the entire trip. I've also made a trip to Arizona in it. No real problems although charging did make the trip about 2 hours longer than in a gas car.

My dealer has been great. Some Ford dealers aren't. I had to escalate a problem getting my phone to connect so I could use Android Auto. Ford Corporate responded and it's now working. We'll use it to listen to some Audible selections on the trip.

I bought the car using Ford Options. I picked the 4 year plan. My guess is that the EVs coming out around that time will be significantly better than anything available today. If the car I want is not available then, or I'm not, I'll always be happy with this car.

I switch to neutral to coast downhill sometimes to save energy. It won't brake at all by itself in neutral. One pedal braking isn't good for fast/emergency stopping. You'll have to use the mechanical brake for that.

That seems a little counterproductive. I also don’t believe the manual suggests doing that either. I’d think you would get way more energy from the regenerative braking than changing to N or D while in motion.

It could be one of the best vehicles I have ever owned. But its not. A few OTA updates and it could be one of the best vehicles but there are issues that have been here since the vehicle launched. They have not been fixed and I am now having doubts if they will ever be fixed.

Whenever the day comes where we finally get a legit OTA update that actually fixes one or two of the issues and desires of the MME community then maybe I could say "I love this car!"

Right now there are a lot of things I like about her but she is an Extremely Annoying car to own!
I echo this. Great car. Lousy buying, support and service. Needs this all fixing and they are onto a winner.

The EV6 will be better, but only if you prefer that shape, or want to tow. An Ionic 5 will be a bit less and shares lots of the bits and platform of the EV6 but isn't as well built.

I want to love this car, but not there quite yet. They are all compromises, but Ford is not listening or acting fast enough in this fast moving and tech savvy sector.

I think you can turn off that brake coach in settings.

Love the car. I have less issues with it than with my to previous cars: a Nissan Leaf and a Chevrolet Volt. And you can tell they loved making this car at ford. The little things as the "door presenters" the mustang projection, the volume knob in the screen. All not necessary but those little things make it that I love the car.

Yes, I love my Mach e. Yes it has some improvement areas but even Tesla still has issues. These are the beginnings of the EV evolution and they are only going to get better. The good news, is some of the getting better will be in software enhancements. I expect better charging times as well as improved range as more empirical data comes into Ford. What gasoline car gives you that?

After 7,000+ miles still love mine. Would like to see more frequent/useful software updates. there have of course been a few quirks as well but nothing that was a deal breaker for me. Still love the looks I get and I have still only seen 1 other Mach e in my area so I'm like a unicorn around here

Hey everyone! I am new to the group here. I joined because I am in the market for a MME. Live in southern CA so most likely going to get the CA Rt 1. But… since I have joined this group, I have noticed that there seem to be a lot of issues/complaints with the vehicle. To be fair, I currently drive a Jeep Cherokee and there are certainly ample issues/complaints on the Cherokee forums. So I guess all I really am looking for are some good positive experiences. What do you all LOVE about your MME? Any SOCAL owners? If so, which model did you get and how is that working out for you. At the end of the… are you all happy with your purchase? Thanks in advance for any comments (helpful, sarcastic, or otherwise)! Be safe out there!
I love my FE. I never want to buy another ICE vehicle. This is my second EV, and I have 35,000 miles driving EVs.

If I lost this one, I'd buy another. Actually, I might sell this one and buy the GT, but that's mostly because I can get almost new price for mine, even with 13k miles on it.

I love my FE Mach-e. Proof of this is how often I clean it inside and out. Keeping it in showroom condition. I honestly smile every time I get in and start my day.

Does it have problems? Yes. But I new that possibility going in. But I have faith Ford will take care of us early adopters. This is an important vehicle for Ford.

The problems I experience are software related.

lane cantering keeps me too far to the right. Maybe this will get adjusted when Blue Cruise gets released.

Cruise control keeps the vehicle at my set speed (110kph) even when I exit a highway with a posted exit speed of (50kph). The Mach-e recognizes the speed sign change, because it shows the new slower speed on the drivers display, but the cruise doesn’t slow down. It actually attempts to exit at 110kph. I have to brake to turn off the cruise control. This is definitely an AI issue. Again, maybe Bluecruise will fix this.

ford, if you are reading this, I won’t be subscribing to BlueCruise unless I read a lot of reviews of its success. I won’t be early adopting BlueCruise.

another software glitch is the excess length of time it takes for the centre screen to redraw from the reverse view to refresh and draw the regular radio/driving view. I have the reverse delay turned off. But I drive half a block before the radio screen becomes usable.

I honestly can’t think of any other complaints. Oh…. Other than the ambient lighting. All marketing material AND the ambient lighting adjustment screen show ambient lighting in the rear seat compartment. Well, sorry, no ambient lighting exists in the rear seat compartment. I am waiting to see if any owners come up with a hack to get ambient lighting in the rear. I won’t attempt it till after my warranty expires, but I know one day I will attempt it. Just wondering if the connector for an ambient light LED exists on the wiring harness in the rear door or if I’ll have to run one from the front. Not going to open my door panel right now, but maybe someone else has already taken a peek and can advise.

again, overall love the car. Would only recommend to a friend along with caveats of my experience.
As to speed limits, are you in Intelligent Cruise? It's an option that you have to select.

Also, if you hold the car to the left side of the lane, it will then drive there in lane centering. You have to fight it for maybe ten of fifteen seconds. However, I'm not sure that you don't have to do it again on the next drive...

Thank you for starting this thread!

I was beginning to wonder if I was the only person to love the car. Obviously not...

You want the truth? Here’s the truth. There are only two camps of Mach E owners: those with problems, and those who don’t know they have problems. Anybody who says their MME is perfect isn’t paying close enough attention. Everybody has some of the same software bugs. Everybody has the same crappy FordPass app - but it might not bother you.

So, with that out of the way, I love my Mach E. Mechanically, it is nearly flawless. The one mechanical issue I’ve had - driver screen buzz - is going to be fixed in the next 48 hours. And while I can’t share specifics, I’m pretty sure none of the new builds will have this problem. :)

The in-car software can be annoying. But I’m pretty sure Ford will have a permanent fix for the door unlock bug soon. It’s only going to get better.

FordPass…. I dunno. That may be a while before it gets better. But it’s a relatively small part of owning the car.
When you can post it, I'd love to hear about the buzz fix.
