Running 12s right out of the box is pretty darn good. With a little work you can be running 11s!

If they truly were gunning for the Model Y Performance then they have missed their mark
Maybe ford where originally not, but with all the delays they can't have any excuses of there being no model Y to benchmark against for coming up short. The 1/4 times posted so far are similar to those of I-pace and polestar 2 both vehicles with far less power and neither of which use 'performance' naming :(

I actually cancelled a M3P order for a variety of reasons beyond the scope of this thread, including a Tesla surprise decision, which I surmised was secretly related to material shortages, to remove parts and features from the car, in addition to a lack of some standard features common to the $60k+ price range.

If the GTPE falls short of the hype, I’ll probably go back to ICE for a few years. Electric in itself isn’t enough to keep me on the hook.

I remember an interview in which a Ford rep said the GTPE is built to nearly keep up with a porsche GTS - I really bought that line.
Yeah, Elon deciding passengers didn’t need adjustable lumbar support is a real pain in the back.

If he's not just trolling it seems maybe these Motors don't really have abilities to continue pulling juice over certain speeds as well as competing EVs. This was part of what had the standard Mach e well behind model Y... It was close upto some speed.

I was sorta hoping for a bit different motor setup somehow on the GT though that would have more grunt upto higher RPM. But lack of media being allowed coverage pre launch may have been cause they knew the GT was a bit of a marketing trick and not quite upto traditional Mustang GT standards over pedestrian car other than at lower speeds.

Well, Ford’s silence is quickly becoming deafening.

Is that standard AWD or RWD, I could image with the smaller motor being the limiting factor for the AWD model, we really need to look at the 1/4 is for a RWD only and see if it pulls as expected all the way to the end.

The GT & GTPE have a power figure that is way below the combined power of both motors, either this is just a battery limitation or just ford holding out for a later Shelby equivalent. If it is the former well not much can be done, but if the latter later then the power reduction setting ford are currently using needs some serious tweaking.

My focus RS ultimately left me very underwhelmed and never lived up to expectations. The mach-e on the other hand has no previous RS history blinders to persuade me so it really is going to have to earn its high price tag when it turns up at my dealer and I finally get it to take if for a test drive.

So while a weak sauce 1/4 trap speed for the supposed power is not going to be a deal breaker for me, my choice will ultimately be down to how it drives as an overall package so lets hope it deliverers on that front as when you end up waiting nearly two years since making a reservation it means I can just as easily wait a bit longer for an EV6 GT.

In May, I was oh so close to ordering a Model 3 LR. Then they pulled the radar sensors, I said forget that, and ended up swapping to a Mach E reservation. While I am generally irritated by Elon, I’m compelled by the performance of his cars. Was hoping I could get that level of performance over here, but now I don’t know what to think!

Oh, and turns out he got the Top Safety Pick+ label back despite no radar sensors ?‍♂.

It launches like a bat out of hell and then falls on its face around 75 mph.

I never sniffed a 3.5 0-60 though more like 3.8 or 3.9 (with 1' rollout) but to be fair that's with two 200 pound guys in it so to me it's pretty much mission accomplished for 0-60, it's just past that that it is disappointing.
Thank you for gathering this data.

With 2 data points, it seems more likely this is within spec. (and if it's not, what does that say about quality control?) I was just watching this video of GTPE running on the Ford test track the other day. Did they never exceed 75mph during testing? This boggles the mind.

3.8s/3.9s 0-60 isn't that satisfying either. That's consistent with OP's best result (3.78s). I was hoping that Ford would under promise and over deliver on the 0-60 time like certain European manufacturer, but it doesn't seem to be the case here.

Ford Mustang Mach-E My GT Performance Edition (GTPE) first track launch with videos, timeslip! 0-60 in 4.12s, 1/4 mile in 12.657 @ 100.02 mph 7qk23sjcirdyi0hpxo5hjzn71mwlu81l5ovy395t&rid=giphy

I agree it would seem that while the initial range estimate of 235miles was under promised and then over delivered with an EPA of 260 mile :), the performance targets have fallen well short.

Lets hope that at least when people test the range it lives up to the promise, we know that the others trims do so that just leaves room for the performance to be improved via OTA, The real interesting data point will be to see what the press cars performance measurements are and if they are fall under the bad old days of press specials and live up to expectations while owners vehicles do not :(
