Good lord, this is a tall order.


GTPE runs 1/4 mile at 100mph, people start to lose their minds (don't even worry about what the time was, it was probably mentioned like 3 times in 31 pages vs about 4928 times mentioning the 100mph speed)

Debates into the night about the 1/8 mile time and speed and what it could mean for the 1/4 mile if things are fixed

Meanwhile orders are being cancelled, or on the verge of being set on fire

Salt everywhere

Accords running better 1/4 mile speeds

Mexican drag races

Accords, and 2.0T motors in general, pulling so much harder at highway speeds that more orders of the GT/GTPE are set ablaze from the flames of turbo exhaust pipes

People living their lives one quarter mile at a time

AWD pulling faster 1/4 trap speeds

Users blocking other users

New cars being considered

Speculation on what the issue really is

Reviews not being released to back up claims of performance

Hopes and dreams are dashed

Hearts and minds waiting in anguish for validation in their decisions

I both love and hate this thread. Love it for the memes and all of the salt but also hate it because it’s giving the MME GT/PE a bad reputation.

I’m hopeful that the radio silence and longer-than-expected embargo means they’ve been scrambling to fix this issue and knew about long before this track day ever happened

if you mash the pedal right now in a GTPE, you will get up to 124 by early 2022

Sounds like that’ll happen well before my GT-PE gets here in 2029.

I really don’t care about top end in this car. I just want it to be fun and capable. The road courses closest to me should be fine for the speed of this car. Not that I am going to track it a lot, just once in a while for jollies.

Lol thanks! Yeah the embargo mystery is crazy too. Hopefully like you're saying it means they already know about the issue. I mean they have to know right? At some point I'd have to imagine they did a 1/4 mile run before releasing it and saw it was slower than an AWD version. Nothing else makes sense. And to that matter, the only difference is the front motor really, so what about the front motor is causing so many issues?

Thanks for posting these - it helps put the situation into perspective. For my wife, this will still be a massive upgrade even at higher speeds. He current car (Mini countryman s all4 - she thinks it is zippy) takes 19.2 seconds for 0-100 (vs. About 12.5 for the Mach-e GT) and 12.3 seconds to go from 60-100 (vs. about 6.5 in the GT). Not too shabby!

Wonder why Unbridled Extended was such a dog though?

0-100 for the 4X is also exactly 12.5 according to CD results. 13.6@103mph 1/4. MT got a [email protected]. Both got 4.8 best 0-60, exactly matching Ford’s stated time. So, the GT is much faster to 60, the 1/8th and then, it spits the bit.

I don't know if there's any way to search dragy to see if any MYPs have done 70-90 but C&Ds MYP test has its 50-70 at 1.8 seconds.

I can do tests on my Y Long Range with the acceleration boost. A little slower than the Y Performance but still a comparison since my 1/8th & quarter mile times are faster than the GTPE. I'm away for the holiday weekend so it'll be a few days before I can do it.

Does there seem to be something wrong from the factory? Because yes, I do think it’s strange we haven’t seen YouTube reviews yet.

Imagine you are ripping down the front straight on your favorite road course in a GT350 and instead of 4th gear, you miss and accidentally grab 6th gear and try to accelerate. Not as elegant as blue92lx's Cliff Notes, but that's basically the problem.

Ok, what if I told y’all I just got this from the Area Ford guy I know, who, got it from a ride/drive engineer on the MME project? Non-PE GT. Perhaps the PE is the problem? ?

Edit: Ok, that was a troll job by me, done for 2 reasons -

1. To show how easy it is to grab a rando ass Dragy run out of the leaderboard in the app and post it up for all to take as gospel. *I am not saying anyone has done this here. Just that it is easy.

2. To inject some hope and dreams back into the lives of all of you dejected GT guys. This thread has gotten way too sad and I even got blocked by someone for the 1st time ever in my 28 yrs of car forum contributions. ???
