I ordered for a black painted roof to minimize the weight. I can't find the definitive curb weight online anywhere, but the GVWR is 5980 and max weight for occupants and payload is 939 implying a curb weigh over 5k (porky). The Drive reported an estimated curb weight of 4394 - 4890 lbs in February 2020.
I saw a car and driver article that claimed pano roof generally adds about 200 pounds to most cars.

but our Tesla friends are still the EV trap stars despite their glass roofs

Just about every crossover now has a pano roof, and that pesky ICE X3M competition is outperforming almost every other crossover despite the glass - 11.6 1/4 mile and 3.3 to 60.

Glass roofs need to die a fiery death. It’s like designers these days have never even seen Jurassic Park.

Seriously though not everyone wants to be exposed to nuclear fission while they’re commuting. But even worse than that, they’re putting panos in every single 3 row suv which takes a shit ton of once useful space for fold away entertainment and eliminates it. Now you can only get 2 screens on the back of the front seats, because apparently none of the designers have more than 2 children either. Like WHY DO YOU THINK I NEED A NAVIGATOR L IN THE FIRST PLACE FMC?

Ford put a fission/fussion blocking coating on this glass. I feel no heat from the sun over head unlike any other sunroof I have seen.

Ok, since @GT500R Is practicing radio silence after my request for a quick Predator exhaust clip, I’m gonna keep the train rolling in the wrong direction myself. @cloud9, come on with the Voodoo, my man. You cannot let an LS3 call you out ?
And you GTPE guys, well, like Matt Watson of Carwow says, go ahead and do the obligatory sound check anyway.

Btw, the water blast is due to fresh car wash and I sprayed into the tailpipes.

Edit: just to trip you out a bit, it has a soft limiter at about 4500rpm, so you’re missing all the nasty up to 6700 ?

And just your daily reminder, when the GTPE post 70 or whatever mph issue gets sorted out, it should run with these guys ET-wise. Mph won’t get quite as high. But neither does a Model Y.

Good stuff, that. 11.9-12.1 spread and they all trap 115-118mph range.

so the entire performance crossover/compact suv segment outperforms the GTPE??

No, the GTPE hopefully keeps up with the top of the line fastest compact luxury SUVs on the planet, despite costing $20k+ less**

Hey guys/gals! Just remembered I recorded a roll-on hit when we did our overnight loaner test drive FE back in April. Somebody count the 30-70mph time to the tenth, I get about 5secs but she lifts around 67 ?.

Where is it compared to the poor GTPE? ???

I think X3M competition is only about $8k more, and beats every performance metric.

However the GTPE is more practical in terms of interior space and storage, and obvious lack of gas station visits.

I have a few reasons for staying away from BMW generally, but that X3 competition is pretty compelling.

Once you add pretty much the same features to the BMW it's more like $83k

My GTPE with every option will cost me $61k (after tax credit). The base model (no option) X3 M comp is $76,900.

So at least a $16k real world difference in price.

But yes, the X3 should win all the performance metrics, just for a significant chunk of change more.

FWIW, I like both cars.
